Massachusetts Favorite Pizza Topping is… WHAT?!?
Pizza toppings are serious business in my house. Perhaps that’s why I’m so triggered looking at Redbook‘s new study proclaiming “The Most Popular Pizza Toppings In Every State.” Depending on my mood and the company surrounding me I may choose plain cheese (crowd-pleaser, not going to alienate anybody, classic) or pepperoni (usually one pepperoni to every one or two plains – same reasons). If we have veg-heads over I’m always down with a veggie pie. My wife loves a good buffalo chicken pizza. Variety is the essence of life or something like that, no?
I scrolled to Massachusetts’s favorite pizza topping… and… huh? It’s not that I think this topping flat-out sucks or anything. And I know people enjoy this topping – I’ve just never been with anyone who orders it! Again – I’m not saying that people don’t order it, I know they do, I just have serious reservations with calling it Massachusetts’s FAVORITE pizza topping.
That topping is? Bacon. Bacon is Massachusetts’s favorite pizza topping?? I won’t knock it ’til I try it – then I’ll knock it as being a greasy salt-lick and an overall pizza-ruiner, but I didn’t say that yet.
