Kowloon Is Creating A Documentary and They Need Your Videos
As you drive down Rt. 1 in Saugus, there are two things that you just simply can’t miss: the Hilltop sign, and of course – Kowloon. The building itself opened in 1950, but was officially re-named in 1958, which means for almost 75 years, the restaurant has been a true staple on the North Shore and a must-visit for everyone in New England.
75 years also means a LOT of people served. The establishment can accommodate about 1,200 people, and the owners of Kowloon have put two and two together: if that many people have enjoyed a meal at their place, there has to be some old-timey video footage in existence.
The owners are searching for either photos or videos, preferably on VHS Super 8mm reels to include in the new documentary which will showcase the history of the establishment and the level of adoration it has received from the surrounding community for decades now.
So, if you have any great photos of you chomping on an egg roll, or a video of you sipping a Mai Tai, then you better email what you have to [email protected] so you can be featured!
