George Strait 2023 Stadium Shows Are Setting Records

George Strait has set back-to-back venue attendance records with his two most recent shows. George brought a record-setting 46,641 attendees to Milwaukee’s American Family Field on Saturday (6/3) evening (besting Paul McCartney’s 2013 record by over 2,000 people). The show came on the heels of last weekend’s record-setting 63,891 attendees at Columbus’s Ohio Stadium for Buckeye Country Superfest.

Strait said in a statement, “We truly have the best fans in the world. There’s nothing like seeing their faces when I walk on stage with my Ace in the Hole band jamming to ‘Deep in the Heart of Texas.'” He added, “The energy they’re giving back to us is indescribable. I’m very grateful to all of the fans who come out to see us for these shows, and I can’t wait to see you at the next one.”

Jason Hartland, executive vice president commercial officer for the Milwaukee Brewers, said, “We have been fortunate to have a number of fantastic shows at American Family Field since we opened our doors. Our expectations for George Strait, Chris Stapleton, and Little Big Town were very high, and those expectations were blown away. We set venue records for concert attendance and gross ticket revenue, among others.”

The record-setting concerts followed the Country Music Hall of Famer’s recent headlining performance at Phoenix’s State Farm Stadium (May 6). They set the stage for a summer of stadium shows to come, with dates to follow in Seattle (June 17), Denver (June 24), Nashville (July 28 & 29), and Tampa (Aug. 5).

George’s most recent appearance was on NBC’s The Voice on May 23 when he appeared in a video message on Blake Shelton’s last night on the show. The night was full of tributes for Blake, from Dolly Parton to Peyton Manning to Miley Cyrus. Every coach on the show with Shelton in the last twelve years paid tribute to him through video messages. And then there was the King Of Country Music, who spoke toward the show’s end.

George said, “Hey, Blake, I just want to say congratulations on the successful run you had on The Voice. You really stole the show, man, you really did. So, congratulations on that, and I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide to do next. I’m sure it’ll be great, whatever it is, and I’ll see you out there on the road sometime.”

After watching the video, Blake responded, “That’s the true king of the country right there.”
