Massachusetts is a romantic state? When one thinks of Massachusetts, images of historical landmarks, Ivy League universities, and clam chowder might come to mind. But beneath the layers of scholarly pursuits and seafood cravings lies a surprising romantic group of people who just want to find love.

According to a recent study by diamond engagement rings and fine jewelry expert, Mark Broumand, Massachusetts residents have proven themselves to be true romantics, earning the state the prestigious title of the 4th most romantic spot. Who would've guessed? In fact, the East Coast in general topped the list of most romantic people.

Here's what brought Massachusetts up to the top 5:

Engagement Rings and Google Searches

While the Boston Tea Party may have sparked a revolution, Massachusetts residents seem more interested in sparking love and devotion. Mark Broumand analyzed Google search data and discovered a high volume of searches for "engagement rings" in the state. Perhaps Massachusetts is the birthplace of not only American liberty but also everlasting love.

In Massachusetts, people are searching for ‘engagement rings’ the most, with 19,808 average monthly searches.

Massachusetts Romantic Getaways

Forget Paris or Venice; Massachusetts offers its own unique charm for lovebirds seeking a romantic escape. The state boasts picturesque coastal towns, enchanting forests, and charming bed and breakfasts that make for the perfect backdrop for stolen glances and whispered sweet nothings.

‘Wedding venues’ comes in third place, totaling at 7,508 searches.

Florists and Romantic Restaurants

What better way to woo your loved one than with a bouquet of fresh flowers and a candlelit dinner? The abundance of searches for "florists near me" and "romantic restaurants" in Massachusetts suggests that residents have mastered the art of creating magical moments and culinary delights that melt hearts faster than a scoop of New England ice cream on a hot summer's day.

‘Florists near me’ is the second most searched for term, with 12,383 searches.

Others That Made The Top 4 "Most Romantic States"

The State that came in TOP place as most romantic is Jew Jersey. This state searched "wedding venues" more than any other romantic term. Second place is Delaware, where people searched for "engagement rings" the most. Third place is New York, where "engagement rings was also on the top of the list.

Rounding out at fourth place is Massachusetts, where "engagement rings" brought in the most monthly searches. ‘Florists near me’ is the second most searched for term, with 12,383 searches. ‘Wedding venues’ comes in third place, totaling at 7,508 searches.
