New research from Nature & Bloom shows that nationwide searches for "dead bedroom" have risen by 223% since the end of April! In other words, people are bored with their sex lives, or maybe they don't have the energy at all to "perform." The research also found that some states, like Massachusetts, are frustrated with their sex lives.

Let's explore some possible reasons behind Massachusetts' less-than-romantic reputation.

Known for its prestigious universities and thriving intellectual scene, Massachusetts residents might find themselves more stimulated by intellectual pursuits than romantic encounters. With brains buzzing with intellectual discourse, the people of Massachusetts might prioritize deep conversations over seductive flirtation.

With its rich history and strong ties to the American Revolution, Massachusetts might find itself weighed down by the weight of its past. Who has time for passionate love when there are battles to be won and tea to be thrown in harbors? Sometimes, a state's historical significance can leave little room for amorous adventures.

The harsh New England winters can put a damper on even the most fiery passions. Battling freezing temperatures, snowstorms, and icy winds, Massachusetts residents might find themselves seeking warmth under blankets rather than in each other's arms. I remember as a kid our family would drive up to New Hampshire. We'd take Route 1 to get to 95 North. And every time we passed the Golden Banana strip club my sister and I would giggle and always ask my dad why that place's parking lot was always packed. For many years he would lie to us and say it was a truck stop. But as we got older we were finally told the truth. That it was a strip club. Do they make good drinks? I would not know. How good are the dancers? That's something I will never know. Because let me remind you, I've never been inside a strip club, ever.
