Massachusetts Million Dollar Lottery Prize Claimed By “Sugga Momma Trust”
A one million dollar Massachusetts lottery prize was claimed back on June 1. The reason this story is making headlines is because of the name of the person claiming it. In order to protect her identity, she was able to set up a trust that she labeled “Sugga Momma Trust” in order to collect the money. In Massachusetts, you are not allowed to remain anonymous when collecting a lottery prize however there is a way to get around it. The state allows lottery winners to create trusts where a trustee can claim the winning ticket and deposit a check into a bank account set up for the actual winner. And that’s exactly what happened with “Sugga Momma Trust.”
“Sugga Momma Trust” claimed the last million dollar prize in the Masachusetts lottery game “$1,000,000 Players Club.” Christopher Latham is the trustee that was put in place to collect the money for “Sugga Momma Trust” and says they had elected to collect a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes. The winning ticket was purchased at Nouria located on 586 Main St. in Wilmington. That location will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
