Keith Urban: ‘So Proud’ Of Route 91 Survivor At His Vegas Show

Keith Urban has just kicked off his last week of playing shows at his Las Vegas Planet Hollywood residency before returning in November. Keith shared to Insta Stories a fan’s post that they had survived the Route 91 shooting in Las Vegas in 2017 that killed 60 people and wounded at least 413 when a gun opened fire from a hotel room down on the crowd watching Jason Aldean perform.

Keith shared part of Taylor Reynolds’s post to Instagram, writing, “Yup! Don’t worry; you read that right. See above the elevator: ‘LAS VEGAS residency.’ 6 years, and I finally made it back. Keith will always be my happy place; I promised myself I’d only go back my 1st time for him. I’m extremely proud of myself, and thank you so much for everyone’s love and support.”

Urban wrote on Insta stories under a photo of the post, “I’m so honored and extremely grateful to be anyone’s happy place – Thank you so much for feeling that with me. Soooo proud of you, Taylor. (three heart emojis).”

Nicole Kidman recently shared a video clip of her surprising fans in Las Vegas by joining Keith Urban on stage during one of his shows over the weekend. She posted the video clip to Instagram, showing her 9 million followers Keith introducing her on her birthday.

Urban tells the crowd in the video, “We’ve got some birthdays in the house, we’ve got teachers in the house, we’ve got wives in the house…” as he says that, he brings Nicole on stage, and the audience screams. Keith continued, “Barefooted wife, by the way, she’s a sunshine hippie.” The couple then hugs on stage, and Keith says, “Happy Birthday, baby girl.” he then sings a bit of a Loretta Lynn classic country song, “You’re Lookin’ At Country,” singing, “I love running barefooted through the old corn fields, and I love my country ham.”

  This is a wonderful pairing of Keith and Miranda Lambert. The song is the narrators' reminiscence of lost love. Lambert sings the first verse, Urban sings the second verse, and both sing the choruses and bridge together.

  Possibly one of my favorite songs of all time. It’s so simple yet so good, and he and Carrie’s vocals together are amazing! Love the lyrics and the melody. Keith said he wrote the song after having a conversation with his wife Nicole when they first got together. It was his way of reassuring her he would always be there for her.
