Christmas Tree Shops To Stop Honoring Gift Cards – Here’s How Long You Have!
It still hasn’t completely sunk in that we are seeing the end of Christmas Tree Shops. I thought the bounce-back was on when they rebranded themselves as CTS in 2020 but unfortunately and ultimately that was not the case. CTS disclosed in a court filing that it defaulted on a $45 million loan and will be closing its roughly 70 stores soon.
From their humble Cape Cod birthplace, Christmas Tree Shops spread their jingle bell wings and took flight, captivating the hearts of quirky souls far and wide. They became the stuff of retail legends, a treasure trove of delightful oddities and dazzling trinkets. Going to the Christmas Tree Shop was a step into the funky unknown and I always loved it. I love it so much I swear I can smell the store right now. I know, that’s weird. I hope someone reading understands but if not I guess I’ll own it solo. Heck, I’d dab on a little CTS cologne. Too much? Right, let’s move on to why you’re here.
WHEN WILL MY CHRISTMAS TREE SHOP GIFT CARDS STOP WORKING?
Time is nigh. Stores are closing. Sadly, all of them. A filing with the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware states the chain “will cease selling and honoring gift cards on July 21, 2023.”
SO USE YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE GIFT CARDS BY JULY 20th!
And thank you once again Christmas Tree Shops for so many surprising visits. You brought my family a lot of joy and good times. We’ll definitely miss the awesome quirkiness you bring to our area.
