Amazon Prime Day has grown to become Amazon Prime Day(s). Two days filled with a seemingly endless flow of miraculous bargains. At least perceptually they are. In actuality we all know there's a lot of good deals, bad deals, and lots in between.

Prime members in the U.S. purchased more than 60,000 items per minute during the 2022 event last year - more than 300 million items worldwide. Shoppers saved over $1.7 billion, more than any previous Prime Day event. Last year's best-sellers were in the categories of Consumer Electronics, Household Essentials, and Home.

As for this year, the numbers are in for Amazon Prime Day 2023 Day 1. Massachusetts shoppers added to the $6.4 billion that were spent on the first day of Amazon Prime Day(s) 2023 in the US, according to Adobe Analytics Data. The number represents the single biggest e-commerce day so far in 2023. The average spent per Prime Day order for Day 1 was $56.64, up from $53.14 last year for the first day.

Amazon had two Prime Day sales last year, the first one taking place July 12th and 13th and the second one October 11th and 12th. Amazon hasn't announced whether it plans to hold two Prime Day events this year as well.

So how does our level of obsession with Amazon in Massachusetts compare to the levels in other states? Weeeeellllllllllll...

Upgraded Points launched a survey studying each state’s enthusiasm for Amazon. To find out they surveyed 3,200 online shoppers and asked them about their level of obsession with the company on a scale from 1 to 10, how much they spent last year on the Prime Day sale, and much more.

The following are the 6 Most Amazon-Obsessed States in America. I’ll give you the rank, the state, and the percent of the state’s residents who consider their love for Amazon to be a 7-10 out of 10. I’ll finish up by telling you where Massachusetts finished on the list.

Oh I’ll throw some Netflix show recommendations in there as well since we’re talking about our Netflix obsessions and all…

America is Amazon-obsessed. Amazon Prime Day has become so large and buzzed about that it actually genuinely feels kind of like a holiday now. It's gotten so popular that it has actually split itself into two days for twice as much Amazon Prime Day. People love their Amazon. No longer do you have to go bounce from store to store to store running errands, now you can take care of it all inside an app in your phone in 5 minutes time and have it all delivered right to your front door. It's like a real-life genie in a lamp... who takes cash.

Upgraded Points launched a survey studying each state’s enthusiasm for Amazon. To find out they surveyed 3,200 online shoppers and asked them about their level of obsession with the company on a scale from 1 to 10, how much they spent last year on the Prime Day sale, and much more.

Through the survey they found out that the average American spends $91.75 on Amazon purchases each month. A quarter of Americans shop on Amazon once a week or more often and just over half only buy Prime products when shopping on Amazon. Their findings also report that 34% of women would rather give up sex for a year than Amazon for a year. Ok. We'll just leave that right there and move on to why we're here:
