Here Are The Red Sox July Events You Need To Know About
The Red Sox have an exciting end of the month lined up, with the Mets and Braves coming to town. In addition, Fenway Park will be the site of a few unique Red Sox July events that you need to know about.
July 22 – Veterans Parachute Into Fenway
The 14th annual Run to Home Base is this Saturday, July 22. This event raises funds for life-changing care for Veterans, Service Members, and their families. Prior to touching home plate, there’s a 9k run or a 5k walk/run to participate in here. Last year, Run to Home Base raised $2.2 million. Their goal this year is $2.5 million.
The special operation veteran parachute team is named Frog-X. It is comprised of Navy SEAL Veterans who will perform this parachute jump into the historic park’s outfield. This event at Fenway Park will be open to the public and the World Series Trophies will be on display.
July 31 – Christmas In July
On Monday, July 31, the Red Sox announced the sixth annual “Christmas In July.” Red Sox players and wives are organizing this year’s program, the team says via a press release. Pitcher Nick Pivetta and his wife Kristen, pitcher Chris Martin and his wife Dani, pitcher Kenley Jansen and his wife Gianni, third baseman Justin Turner and his wife Kourtney, and catcher Reese McGuire will be part of the special day.
These Red Sox players and their families purchase items hand-selected by hospital staff. Fans can also donate to the Christmas in July fundraising page here. The Children’s Hospital event page will also show you what your donation will go towards and how much money has been raised.
Donations and funds raised will help Boston Children’s Hospital purchase items for patients. Furthermore, donation money will fill urgent needs for patient families and the hospital.
