Trying to plan a summer getaway is hard enough, without considering price. And we all know, if you want to be near the beach, you have to pay. And you have to be prepared to pay big, not only for lodging but for everything around the towns with ocean views. Here's some good news, procrastinators. 1 New England spot made the top 10 of the least expensive coastal vacations. Whew. You may want to book now.

According to the website Upgraded Points, one popular Maine beach hot spot has made it's way into their top 10 list of America's Least Expensive Ocean Views. And it's a beauty. Bar Harbor, Maine, famous for it's including stunning views, fresh seafood and the breathtaking Acadia National Park is relatively affordable to visit! I'm a little shocked. But, the travel site did the work. They determined the average cost of waterfront vacation homes and hotels across 75 popular beach towns. From all the research, across the country, Bar Harbor ranked among the more affordable for vacationers, with an average nightly hotel at $259. Only 1 New England spot made the top 10 of the least expensive coastal vacations. Bar Harbor, Maine...here we come!

2. Ocean Springs, MS- $144/$1491

6. Ocean City, MD-$241/$2097

7. Pawley's Island, SC-$325/$2160

8. San Juan Island, WA-$255/$2191

9. Myrtle Beach, SC-$331/$2240

10. Bar Harbor, ME-$259/$2254 (average home rental $385/night)

Not only did Bar Harbor, Maine make this list of the country's least expensive ocean view vacation spots, but it also made a list of the MOST CHARMING!

It means something to be named one of the most charming cities in America. I feel like it's the land-mass-equivalent of an actor being named as a finalist to play James Bond.
