It's not often you are able to see a humpback whale breach out of the water, but that happened off the coast of Provincetown. Makes you want to book a whale watch doesn't it?

Have you ever been on a whale watching expedition off Cape Cod? If the answer is “yes,” then I bet you haven’t seen this happen. Three humpback whales breached in unison off the coast of Cape Cod in Provincetown. It was a moment of pure magic and thank goodness it was captured on film so the whole world could witness it. So, “thank you” to Robert Addie who caught this extraordinary event on camera.

A Normal Day Turned Into A Spectacular Event

It was a seemingly normal day out on the Atlantic of the coast of Provincetown, MA. Little did Robert know, he was about to witness a trio of humpback whales breach at the exact same time. In perfect sync, they breached, lifting their enormous bodies out of the ocean. For those few seconds, time seemed to stand still as these huge marine mammals performed their synchronized dance routine. It really felt like you were watching them dance ballet in the water.

Three Whales Breaching Off Cape Cod Is SO Rare

Breaching is a behavior seen in several whale species. It is believed to serve a variety of purposes, from communication and mating displays to parasite removal. Yet, to see not one, not two, but three whales breach in unison, is a moment that should go down in history. The chances of catching such a spectacle are slim, making the moment captured by Addie even more extraordinary.

Robert’s New Video Popularity Of The Whales Off Cape Cod

The video taken by Robert Addie soon went viral on his Facebook page. Many of his friends said things like, “I saw your video on the news tonight!” People commenting saying they couldn’t believe he was able to capture such a moment.

Robert Addie’s breathtaking capture is indeed a reminder that there is much to cherish, much to protect, and definitely, much more to discover. So, the next time you stand by the ocean, remember the ballet of the humpbacks. Who knows what miracles the waves might bring to your shore?
