Mysterious Pink Vapor Looms in Maine Sky – Is It Barbie??
This past weekend residents of Portland, Maine noticed a mysterious pink vapor in the sky. It was a very pretty shade of pink but, what the heck is it?? Hunches began being thrown out and turning into rumors which spread faster than a blueberry bush (which actually doesn’t spread very quickly). Rumors which gained speed and traction included:
“It must be a breast cancer awareness event somewhere nearby.”
“It’s got to be a promotion for the Barbie movie.”
“Holy cow, loudest gender reveal everrrrrr.”
As it turned out the pink vapor was coming from Eco Maine waste management company. So what is the origin of the pink vapor? Eco Maine isn’t entirely sure but thinks some trash that was being incinerated contained iodine, causing the pretty pink smoke poofing into the sky. Eco Maine is working on getting the iodine out of the trash stream since the CDC says exposure to iodine vapor can cause health issues including insomnia, bronchitis, diarrhea, and weight loss.
No word yet if the waste company will face any citations or fines as a result.
Looking at that pink vapor gives me a little hankerin’ for a strawberry shortcake ice cream bar from the ice cream man (wherever he is!) soooooo…
