‘Frasier’ Reboot Coming, Boston Skyline Featured in Teaser
Dr. Frasier Crane is returning to sitcom glory and he’s doing the coast to coast move from Seattle to Boston!
Paramount+ released a new teaser trailer hyping Frasier‘s return and it includes a nod to the city where the titular character returns to start a new chapter in his life: BOSTON!
Of course Frasier is a spinoff of Cheers so Dr. Crane’s previous attachment to Boston is well-documented. For the reboot Frasier heads home to Boston to start a new chapter in his life. The Seattle to Boston move is evident in the teaser trailer – Frasier’s opening graphic has always featured the Seattle skyline, where Frasier was based during his radio career and the setting of the sitcom. With the move to Boston, the skyline too has changed. You can make out the Prudential Tower and Zakim Bridge in the Frasier logo which is sure to delight local viewers. Check out the teaser here:

The series begins streaming October 12 on Paramount+. And for those keeping track Cheers ran on NBC from 1982 to 1993 and Frasier originally aired on TV (NBC as well) from 1993 to 2004.
The Frasier reboot will debut it’s first two episodes on NBC before planning to move permanently to Paramount+, an interesting newer way to launch such a legendary reboot. Do you like this ‘debut it on the network then shift to the stremer’ technique? Or do you think Frasier should be back on network TV full time?
When Frasier makes the cross country trek to come home to Boston, I hope he’s not too disappointed to find out that he’s not the most well-known celebrity in Massachusetts.
