This has been the summer of Morgan Wallen and "Barbenheimer." And I think even Morgan Wallen would get a kick out of knowing that "Barbie Oppenheimer" is a real person.... and she lives here in Massachusetts!

Just imagine, you're Barbie Oppenheimer. You're just minding your business. Then you hear that they're making a Barbie movie and it starts getting some buzz. It's your first name so I'm sure you take note of it, a few friends probably joke with you about it, and you move on. Then you hear about another very buzzworthy movie which is going to be released on the same day called "Oppenheimer." That's your last name. Now things are starting to get weird. Soon everybody is in a frenzy about "Barbenheimer" and you feel like you won the Powerball. I mean, what are the chances?? Unfortunately, it doesn't come along with the billion-dollar payday but still, it's pretty cool.

So, who is Barbie Oppenheimer?

Barbie is a 68-year-old retired speech pathology professor who worked at Boston University and now lives with her husband in Newton. She worked at Mass General earlier in her professional life but spent most of it working at B.U. She was born Barbara Burrington but took the nickname "Barbie" which she later changed to "Barby" to differentiate herself from the much shorter plastic Barbie you're probably thinking about right now. Her last name changed when she married Donald Oppenheimer in 1980. So there you have it. The original "Barbenheimer" was actually born in Massachusetts, 43 years before the two movies were released.

Where in Massachusetts is Barbie Oppenheimer From?

Barbie Oppenheimer of Newton says she has loved her newfound fame during this "Summer of Barbenheimer." And we love that she exists in our home state. And no, her dreamhouse in Newton isn't pink.

Toymaker Mattel is set to launch the Mattel Universe into theaters, releasing 12 upcoming movies based on their toys. Check them out below. Maybe you're the next "Barbie Oppenheimer" or "Carl Hot Wheels" or something. Check out what Mattel toys of the past will become theatrical releases below:

Barbie has become a big hit and a box office blockbuster. Barbie is a Warner Bros. Pictures movie and the first movie to receive a PG-13 rating from the Mattel division. The PG-13 rating clearly didn't effect the movie's success as Barbie exceeded opening weekend expectations, snaring $162 million over its first three days in domestic theaters. The Barbie movie is a movie from Mattel Films which is the movie division of Mattel which first started diving into the movie business in 2016 with the release of "Monster High." Since "Monster High," Mattel Films has released 11 films including the most recent Barbie movie. What many don't know is that Mattel Films actually has several toy movies currently in production. Many of which, have potential to out perform the Barbie movie based on their notoriety.

These movies will be based on several toys and games developed by the brand Mattel. Mattel was developed in 1945 and is the world's second largest toy maker in terms of revenue, after The Lego Group. The two biggest toys for Mattel in previous years has been Barbie and Hot Wheels. While there really isn't any coincidence, Barbie dolls have shown a HUGE rise in revenue since the Barbie movie was released. The 33% bump in sales can be credited directly to the movie's success. Mattel is hoping the same will be done for the upcoming toy movies they are currently working on.

With projections of the doll industry in general rising to a whopping 14 billion dollars based on the success of the Barbie movie, it's no shock that Mattel wants to create these upcoming toy masterpieces. If they can capture even a fraction of Barbie's success, they will be extremely happy. These are the movies that Mattel is currently working on bringing to the big screen and will be released in the near future.
