Hey, International Coffee Day is coming up this Sunday. Perhaps this is a good time to dig into our habits. We all know that Boston has a heck of a lot of Dunkin’s around. Starbucks isn’t far behind. But is Boston on of the BEST coffee cities in the USA? Research shows it’s in the Top 20. That’s pretty good, or bad. But one thing is for sure, we LOVE our coffee.
WalletHub compared the 100 largest cities, using 12 key indicators for a “strong coffee culture.” From coffee shops to coffeehouses, cafes to kiosks, the findings in this study show the best local coffee scenes in the U.S. WalletHub, a personal finance website, unveiled it’s data on the Best Coffee Cities in America. It also revealed a list of top coffee deals and discounts from retailers that we can all look forward to during International Coffee Day.
The Rankings
So, what city do you think would be the cream of the coffee lovers? If you are thinking Seattle, you are close, but think again. Wait, New York didn’t even make the top 20? Nope. New York chimes in at #31. Have you ever heard of Gilbert, Arizona? Apparently that city has the highest share of households that own a single-cup/pod coffee maker with over 31 percent making coffee.
Fun and interesting stuff to mull over with your morning coffee, right? So what about us? Boston ranks #17 in the top cities for coffee lovers.
