Just ask any of the guests of honor on this list. They collectively rake in about $700 million. Among them, a Massachusetts TikToker lands on Forbes List Of Top 50 Social Media Creators.
Meet Influencer Mikayla Nogueira, who comes in at #36 spot in this Forbes Top 50. Mikayla is from Freetown, Massachusetts and even has her own Wikipedia page. She scored a spot on the prestigious list because of her more than 17 million followers, across TikTok and Instagram. As reported in MassLive, Mikayla is famous for her make-up tips and tutorials, all delivered with a big, beautiful Boston accent.
Forbes reports these exemplary content creators are "poised to become some of the most significant business leaders of our time." They went on to say they are using their creativity to "connect with audiences of historic proportions." In fact, the 2023 list makers have a combined 2.6 billion followers. And you know how the saying goes, there's strength in numbers.

Mikayla has over 13% of her followers interact with her content. That makes the Massachusetts influencer the 4th most engaging creator on the Forbes list. Her audience loyalty has helped to elevate her game. She earned $2.4 million last year from sponsors, according to Forbes. Deals with Charlotte Tilbury, L'Oreal and CVS are just a a big piece of her earnings puzzle, but there are so many others including local spots.
Here's an example of her work (and her accent).
Want to know who landed the highly coveted #1 spot? That would be social media giant, MrBeast, aka Jimmy Donaldson. Forbes says MrBeast has more than 300 million followers. Think about that. His fan base is almost as large as the entire United States population. What's his trick of the trade? According to to the publication it's his "high production videos and stunts that include surviving in Antarctica for 50 hours and building a Wonka chocolate factory." He does use his power for good, too. Check this out:
