Massachusetts Most-Purchased Salad Dressing Will Surprise You; HINT: Not Ranch
And no, it’s not clam chowdah. (That’s for anybody who clicked in NOT from Mass.) However I did park my car by the yard earlier today.
Kraft just came out with a list of the favorite salad dressing in every US state and what I like about this list is that it’s based on sales numbers. There’s not some questionable methodology that gets the results. And that’s about all I like about Kraft’s list.
First off, this is obviously the favorite KRAFT dressing in every US state. I’m sure they didn’t ask all of the other dressing makers for their sales data so they could make one of those snazzy US maps covered in salad dressings like you see on social media all the time.
The other thing I don’t like is our favorite salad dressing. And it’s not just Massachusetts’ most purchased dressing, it’s every single New England state’s favorite/most purchased dressing. I’m not upset because I don’t eat this salad dressing. I just rarely hear people order it. Trust me, I’m sure they do – and Kraft is going off their sales figures so there is merit to it no doubt.
But….. Catalina?!?
Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts all are swimming in Catalina dressing, picking it as their favorite (err most purchased). Catalina actually tied for most state victories with 13, tying Ranch for the Top Spot honors.
Speaking of Massachusetts favorites, USA Today just released their Top Budget Restaurant in every state – a pretty handy guide to eating well state-by-state on a tight budget. So I’ll let you know what that restaurant is for Massachusetts (and they do have Catalina dressing, I just called). We’ll give you the top budget restaurant for every New England state as well. We could all do well saving a couple bucks while eating well so enjoy!
