Jon Pardi And His Family Get COVID
When Jon Pardi was backstage at the Grand Ole Opry on October 24, he said he wasn’t feeling well that night and that every October, he gets sick. He noted that he just could not miss his Opry induction and apologized to the people backstage many times for his sniffling and coughing. Not long after the Opry performance, he postponed the shows that weekend due to being sick.
Now, more than a week later, Pardi has posted a video clip to his Insta Stories telling fans he has to postpone shows again because he, his wife, and seven-month-old baby Presley all have COVID. Jon said in the video clip, wearing a winter hat and t-shirt at home, “I’ll just cut right to the chase; I’m gonna have to reschedule the shows for this weekend. Also, I now have COVID, Presley (his daughter) has COVID, and Summer’s (his wife) probably got COVID; it’s been going around my family and my crew, so the best thing to do is just reschedule.”
He noted that last weekend’s show are already rescheduled, and tour dates can be found on his website. He closed, saying, “I was really looking forward to this weekend, but I’ve got to get healthy and rest. There is nothing fun about this., I hate this. I am sorry once again, and I hope everybody’s safe out there.”

Pardi was inducted to the Grand Ole Opry by a surprise guest, Garth Brooks, who said, holding up Pardi’s Opry member trophy, “I’ll tell you what, brother, be careful what you wish for right here ’cause your life is about to go into warp speed right now. I’ve had great honors in my life, none greater than getting to be a member of this family right here. This is the big one.”
Brooks then told the crowd that he met Jon at a CMA party when he was a “baby” act and added that “he was still old then.” He then recalled that he took his very first selfie with Pardi. Garth said that when Jon opened for him in Knoxville in front of 80,00 people, he “had them eating out of his hand.” He added, “What he did was turn the night around to where the pressure was on me when I came out of there. I used to Like Jon Pardi, after that night, I love Jon Pardi.” Brooks said the two will have each other’s back and that his next song will sound very different because “you are a member of the Grand Ole Opry.”
