Lainey Wilson, HARDY Are Early CMA Winners
As is tradition, two CMA Awards winners have been announced this morning, the day of the 57th Annual CMA Awards. Lainey Wilson and HARDY are already two-time CMA winners today (11/8). The two won both the Musical Event and Music Video of the Year for “Wait In The Truck.”
The CMA [psted new of the early winners on CMA’s Instagram. They wrote, “JUST ANNOUNCED on @GoodMorningAmerica! Congratulations @HARDY (feat. @LaineyWilson) on winning #CMAawards Musical Event of the Year for “wait in the truck”! This is HARDY’s FIRST-EVER. #CMAawards win!”
Fans and friends piped in on the news, with one writing, “Way to go @hardy and @laineywilson.” Another die-hard country music lover and Wilson fan said, “Yesss! 1 down, let’s get the rest, @laineywilson.” One more fan commented, “LOVE this song!”
In the second winners post, the CMAs wrote, “Introducing your #CMAawards Music Video of the Year winner… @HARDY (feat. @LaineyWilson) for “wait in the truck”! Congratulations! Find out who else takes home the rest of the awards TONIGHT at 8/7c on @ABCNetwork!”
Many fans reacted to the news on Instagram, including one who wrote, “Yes, well deserved!!” Another fan commented, “Saw @hardy and @laineywilson in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; they were amazing and definitely deserve those CMAs.” One more fan said, “That’s right, baby!”

Lainey is up for seven more awards this evening, including Single and Song of the Year nods twice for “Heart Like A Truck” and “Wait In The Truck.” She is also nominated for Album of the Year for Bell Bottom Country, Female Vocalist of the Year, and, for the first time in her career, she is nominated for Entertainer of the Year. This also makes Lainey’s fourth and fifth CMA Awards to date, as she won two awards at last year’s 56th CMA Awards. She said backstage when she won the Female Vocalist in 2022, she’d been dreaming about winning this award for years.
HARDY joins Wilson in being nominated for Single and Song of the Year for “Wait In The Truck.”
The 57th Annual CMA Awards will be hosted by Luke Bryan and football legend Peyton Manning and will begin tonight (11/8) at 8 PM ET and air live on ABC.
