Lainey Wilson and HARDY’s Amazing End-of-Tour Gifts
It is an unspoken Nashville and country music tradition to give gifts to your tourmates after a tour ends, and buddies Lainey Wison and HARDY did just that when his “The mocking bird and THE CROW Tour” ended over the weekend. Lainey was the tour’s opener.
Wilson posted a video of the exchange on her Instagram. In a video clip posted among photos from the last night of the tour, you can see Lainey and HARDY in a dressing room, and she says as she bends down to open a guitar, “We played a radio show together and what’s the name of that guitar?” HARDY says, “No f—— way, dude. I’ve been thinking about that forever, and I just didn’t want to say anything.” Wilson gets the guitar out and says, “You ain’t seen nothing yet.” She laughs, “I’m opening your gift!” She shows her friend that the guitar has a mockingbird and a crow on “the end.” He shouts, “Oh my God, dude. Give me a hug. It’s gonna make me cry.” She says, “I love you! Thank you for everything.”
HARDY says, “That is such a good gift,” They both call the guitar “bad a–” and he strums it for a minute before giving her an envelope saying, “Here’s yours,” telling the camera, “We’re gonna put her up at Blackberry Farms for a few days.” Blackberry Farm is a luxury hotel in the Smoky Mountains.
Lainey captioned the post, “@hardy, we will talk about this tour for the rest of our lives. Loved burning up with the road with you, friend.”

When Wilson wins an award — she just won five at the CMA Awards, including Entertainer of the Year a month ago — she often shouts out to young girls who dream of a career in country music just like she once did.
Backstage after she won her CMA Awards, Lainey talked about those young girls who look up to her. She told us, “It means a lot to think that there’s a lot of little girls watching and looking up to me. I do feel a big responsibility, but I feel like I’ve got it. I’m gonna do it.”
