Coming To Massachusetts In 2024: A New Restaurant With Only 1 Entrée
If you sometimes find going to restaurants a little overwhelming because the menu is like reading War and Peace, this is for you! Coming to Boston in 2024, a new restaurant with only 1 entrée. But there’s much more to it than that!
This new restaurant is set to open in the Spring of 2024. And it’s actually not a new concept. This restaurant is already successful in other cities. It’s called Medium Rare, and from the name alone you can likely guess what the one main entrée is. Yes, siree, it’s steak! You know what they say, “better to do one thing well than ten things poorly.”
Medium Rare is already a popular dining destination in 5 areas around the country. Now, the highly rated steakhouse is headed to Watertown, Massachusetts. This Spring, Medium Rare is coming to Arsenal Yards.
Well Done
According to Wicked Local, restaurateurs Mark Bucher and Tom Gregg opened the first Medium Rare in 2011, in D.C., aiming to bring a European concept to the U.S. This restaurant lives by a motto that’s displayed on their website. It’s a Henry David Thoreau quote, “Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity.”
This new spot, coming to Massachusetts in 2024 has a minimalistic mission. Not only does this new restaurant with only 1 entrée keep it simple with their food, but their cocktails are made with just a select few liquors. On their website you’ll find short list of options. It says, “Cocktails made with your choice of…Hendrick’s Gin, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Woodford Reserve Bourbon, The Balvenie Single Malt Scotch.” It makes it easy to make decisions, doesn’t it?
The Check, Please
Unbelievably, this place is quite a deal, as well. Wicked Local reports Medium Rare offers a prix fixe menu. Each guest gets “artisan rustic bread, a mixed green salad and their award-winning culotte steak and hand-cut fries with special sauce,” all for under $30! Medium Rare does offer a an alternative for vegans. It’s a grilled portobello with fire-roasted red pepper sauce, served with hand-cut fries.
But here’s the kicker. second helpings are free! Apparently about halfway through your meal, you’ll be offered a second helping. And they won’t charge you! Can this even be real? Also, can it please be Spring, now? As soon as I hear about a specific opening date for the Watertown location of Medium Rare, I’ll be sure to let you know!
