Luke Bryan: The ‘Most Spiritual’ Christmas Song
A few years back, Luke Bryan recorded a special version of “O Holy Night” for the holidays.
Luke told us of the recording, “I truly believe that ‘O Holy Night’ is one of the prettiest songs, one of the most spiritual Christmas songs that’s ever been. For years and years and years, I’ve just wanted the opportunity to sing it and, hopefully, a little of my South Georgia church voice upbringing comes through. I’ve sung this song for years, even as a kid in church.”
He added, “We just did piano and strings. I just felt like the big man upstairs was on my side singing it, and it was a very emotional, uplifting feeling while I was in the vocal booth.”

Bryan is one of the hardest-working artists in country music and works most of December. He takes time off for Christmas. Then he is back playing his Las Vegas residency until the New Year. The American Idol judge and country superstar says he needs to take a break and enjoy his life at some point soon.
Luke recently told us that as much as he loves his place in country music, something has got to give. He said, “I really feel blessed that I can still, after all this time, have a tangible role as being somebody high up in the business. I can’t always keep facilitating and doing so much in the business. At some point, I’ve got to watch a kid’s football game, and at some point, my wife and I have to go take a trip to a foreign country. We’ve been so busy we haven’t even gotten to go travel abroad and do all that.”
Still, Bryan appreciates where he is in the business. He offered, “At the end of the day, when I wake up, and I feel great, and I’ve slept great, and haven’t flown across the country and jetlagged and all that when I’m on stage, I love every second of it. I still love connecting with the fans, and I still love a great song getting sent to me by a great writer or trying to write a great one.”
