“Coffee Helps” After Car Flips In Londonderry Dunkin’ Drive-Thru
America may run on Dunkin’, but one New Hampshire town literally flips for it! On Wednesday morning a coffee customer entering the take-out window took tipping a little to far. “Coffee helps” after car flips in Londonderry Dunkin’ drive-thru.
NBC Boston reports that The Londonderry Fire Department told The Eagle-Tribune the accident took place at about 7:30am on February 28. Luckily, no one was hurt. or needed medical attention. But there’s been plenty of attention, make no mistake. Let the puns begin.
The incident happened at the All Town Gas Dunkin’ drive-thru. And Londonderry police had the best response to share on their Facebook page, posting “Life happens, but coffee helps.” For those behind the flipped car, service was only interrupted temporarily, so they got their morning fix.
So, how did this happen? Firefighters communicated that the car drove up onto a “concrete-filled metal pipe and tipped over.” Perhaps they took the corner a little too tightly. One commenter on the post said the lane is very narrow.
Some of the more amusing comments on the police post include:
“I thought I was excited about getting my coffee in the morning.”
“Coffee roll?? Too soon I hope everyone is ok,”
“Put a whole new meaning to curbside pick up “
“I guarantee they still went in and got Dunkin’”
“Wish my city’s police department had a sense of humor”
“Parents, show your kids. This is what happens when you get too excited for munchkins at DD drive thru”
“Someone heard Ben Affleck was working the drive through window”
Seriously though, it’s amazing the driver wasn’t hurt. I mean, after a car clips at Londonderry Dunkin’, it could have been a much different outcome. According the Boston Globe, the driver was a 30 year old woman from Londonderry, New Hampshire. And they report she was able to get out of the SUV through sunroof.
I hope her coffee was free that day and she indulged in a donut. What’s your favorite donut? See if it lines up with your state:
