Most people have their go-to snacks, and their favorites are always kept in stock at home. A market research company recently released a map showing the most-searched-for snack in every state. From salty snacks like potato chips, pretzels, and popcorn to healthy snacks like fruit and nuts, there are plenty of snacks to choose from.

HubScore, a market research company, gathered its data by collecting client feedback and analyzing industry data. According to their study, Rice Krispie Treats are the most searched snack across the country. They found that the treat takes the top spot in 18 states. These states include Alaska, Colorado, Michigan, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Washington, and other states.

Taking the second spot nationwide is Doritos. The spiced-up tortilla chips are favored in 16 states. Most of the states are in the South, such as Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and others.

Snacks: From Doritos to Cheetos.

Following behind Doritos for top snacks is Cheetos. It’s the top pick in 8 states including California, Illinois, Nevada, and Texas.

Then, you have Chex Mix which won over 3 states. These three states are Montana, North Dakota, and Hawaii. But the odd one out is New Jersey. The cereal Cheerios secured itself as the go-to snack for the state.

The Snacks That Didn't Quite Make The Cut.

A few other snack favorites didn't rank as number one but made the top five in several states. Those snacks are Goldfish, Pringles, Tostitos, Starburst, and Chips Ahoy!

The market research company also revealed that 73% of consumers snacked at least twice a day.

According to the latest U.S. Trend Index from Frito-Lay, more consumers are integrating their favorite snack products into meals, using snacks as a key ingredient in no-prep dinners. When asked why snacks are an important part of their meal choices, 51% reported “yearning for a specific snack” and “being too busy to cook” (44%) as the top reasons.
