A Mom Used A New England Cocktail To Poison Her Son’s Bully
Did She Go Too Far?
When your child is being bullied you may feel like you need to resort to dr drastic action. That’s what one mom in Texas has done. Police say she has gone too far. Jennifer Rossi a mother from Texas has been arrested for “Intentionally” giving her son a drink that caused another student to be hospitalized. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office says, Rossi, 45, made an old fashioned New England concotion called a “Swilchel”. She gave it to her son and told him to give it to his bully.
Her son then gave the drink the other student during a gym class, which resulted in the classmate being hospitalized after developing nausea and a headache. “Upon arriving to the school, deputies learned that the sick child was given a drink by a classmate during P.E. class.”

“Through the course of the investigation, it was learned that the mother of the student who provided the drink, intentionally mixed the contents of the drink to allegedly prevent her son’s drink from being stolen at school by other students,” the statement continued.
“Although the contents of the drink were non-toxic, the incident resulted in a child being hospitalized,” the statement added. According to ABC News, an arrest warrant affidavit revealed that the mother told her son to give the concoction to the student who fell ill because he’d stolen her son’s drink the day before.
What Was In The Drink?
According to authorities the mother mixed lemon juice, salt and vinegar into her son’s drink. This is a non-toxic concoction and in fact may seem familiar to those of us in New England. It’s basically the same ingredients you would find in an old fashioned drink called a “Swilchel“. Which was a mix of lemon juice, vinegar and salt along with some other flavorings for taste. It was a popular drink amongst farmers in the 1800s but went out of style once tastier thirst quenchers were invented.
What Would You Have Done?
We talked about it on air on my morning show Country Mornings with Jonathan and Ayla on Country 1025. I was on the mother’s side. My cohost Ayla thought there has to be a better solution. What do you think?
