There are 9 New England Express locations closing soon.
For years Express has been selling trendy clothes for trendy kids. Express has always been intimidating to me. I’m sure it dates back to my middle school days when my friends and I would hit the mall – to uhhhh – just walk around and around and around. All the cute girls in my town frequented Express so I rarely even looked in the store. Because even though I was basically at the mall to flirt with girls, I was also a giant chicken. I never set foot in an Express until I had my own daughters. Once I went in there with them I realized how silly my longstanding fears were.
Anyway, enough Express flashbacking and more deets: Express, which is the parent company of Bonobos and UpWest, released a statement on Monday revealing plans to close 95 stores nationwide. 9 of those will be in New England. 3 of Massachusetts 15 locations will be closed for good. Express has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut will close in New England. The list of locations revealed by the retailer is below:
