Paige Davis From Pepperell: Local Catch Of The Week
Nashville is working for Paige Davis. The Pepperell, Massachusetts native has been living and working in the Tennessee city where dreams are made. And with each new release this rising star shines brighter.
Paige’s artistry certainly sparkles with her new release, “The Stars and You.” You can witness the shine by listening to the song, below. Find out what it means and how she came up with the concept.
I’ve been a fan of this remarkable singer/songwriter since she was in high school. To watch Davis evolve has been a thing of beauty. After graduating from UMass Amherst with a degree in neuroscience/psychology, Paige ditched everything she knew behind to take a chance on herself and her art in Nashville.
Change is hard, but it’s what makes us grow. “The Stars and You” is also about change and betting on yourself above all. Davis recently played the famed Whiskey Jam at Dierk’s Bentley’s Whiskey Row venue in Nashville. The challenges are there but so are the opportunities, and Paige is seizing them.
One of Paige’s heroes is Taylor Swift, you can certainly hear the influence in her writing style. Her voice has a similarly soft intonation, but it’s inflected with her token touch of raspy texture. Make no mistake, when strength is needed to express her message, Davis can deliver.

“The Stars and You”
Paige Davis’ new song was born from life changes. She shared the story of the “The Stars and You:”
“I had this idea when I first moved to Nashville—this is the first time I’ve lived in a city and not a small town. I looked up to the sky one night hoping to get some inspiration the way I used to and couldn’t see any stars. I was thinking about how, up until that moment, whenever I was missing someone, I could always look to the night sky and find some clarity. For the first time, I didn’t have that comfort or reassurance. I brought this idea to some of my besties, and luckily, we were totally on the same page. My hopes are for people in a similar situation to connect with this song and understand that it’s okay to take the road less traveled. Sometimes that road can even lead you to some of the best experiences of your life.”
The Story
● Grew up in: Pepperell, MA
● Where You Currently Live: Nashville, TN
● Current single: “The Stars & You
● What lead you to music: I know I always say this, but connection. The ability to connect with others on such a deeply personal and emotional level through music is something I haven’t found outside of writing and releasing songs. I find the arts to be so inspiring and such a beautiful display of humanity, and it makes it even more special when it’s shared with other people. I’m so lucky to be doing this.
● How would you describe your sound: country popish, indie rockish. I feel like my sound is something that is totally my own; its a mix of everyone I’m inspired by.. which leads me to your next question…
● Who inspires you: Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Kelsea Ballerini, Phoebe Bridgers, Lainey Wilson, Carter Faith, Foo Fighters, Halsey, Tyler Childers, Anna Nalick… the list goes on and on!
● Awards/accolades: Country Act of the Year at the 2017 New England Music Awards. Performed as the opening act for Parmalee this past summer. In previous years, I also opened for Lady A withKelsea Ballerini, Brett Young, Keith Urban, Little Big Town, and Lee Ann Womack to name a few. I also kicked off the 2017 New England Country Music Festival with Frankie Ballard, Michael Ray and William Michael Morgan. I’ve had 9 artist cuts as a songwriter, and there are many more to come throughout the year
● Dream duet partner: Taylor Swift, but we’d have to write the song together!! I can only imagine what it’s like to co-write with her!!!
● Favorite new song: my current favorite country song is ghost in my guitar by Alana Springsteen. Girl is so unbelievably talented. And that song is sooo cool!!
● First country concert: Taylor Swift Fearless Tour at Gillette Stadium in 2010. If we mean “more” country, then I got to see Lady A at the You Look Good Tour after I opened for them in NH!
● Day Job: I’m a nanny for the three most beautiful, brilliant, little angel girls!!!
● Most proud moment: I love hearing songs I wrote on the radio. I cannot thank you enough for all you do to make that happen!!!
● Crazy thing that happened in your music career: I can’t even think of one specific thing.. I feel like every day it’s just crazy that I get to wake up and live a life full of music and creativity and country music!!
● Other things you like to do: I love to just hang out with my friends, volunteer, read, journal, go for walks, meet new people, learn as much as i can… just happy to br here!!
● Fun facts: okay this is not a “fun” fact technically but.. I got into a rollover car accident at the beginning of February and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, but I still played a show three days later (my face did not look very cute). It’s all good now, just a fractured nose and a scar above my eye as proof!
● Mantra: I’m so lucky everything works out for me!!
