Bravo Friendly's! Even though a few locations have recently closed near us, the company continues to get creative. The latest marketing initiative has night owls rejoicing. A new Friendly's late night menu has been introduced. And below you'll find the nearby Friendly's locations still open!

Considering another favorite late night go-to spot is shrinking, this is a very smart move for Friendly's. Plus, we have all had those late night cravings. And even though Boston's last remaining Friendly's just closed, along with a couple other locations in Massachusetts, the brand stays strong. In fact, there are still 12 locations open within driving distance of Boston, as you will see below.

Friendly's Late Night Menu Highlights

According to Boston.com, Friendly's Late night menu was announced earlier this week. Save on some of their signature fribbles, snacks, ice cream and sundaes. The deals start at 8:00pm and are good until closing time, which varies by location. Keep in mind, the savings are only good on late night menu items Sunday through Thursday.

What exactly are the options? As reported in Boston.com, they are as follows:

  • A double cone or dish for $4
  • A Friend-Z for $5
  • A Fribble or medium sundae for $6
  • An appetizer or large sundae for $7

Reportedly, the menu items that aren't covered in the deals are the Jim Dandy, brownie sundae, wings, and Munchie Mania.

My family has been Friendly's fans for generations. Did you know the first Friendly's opened in 1935 in Springfield? My parents used to take my sisters and I for special occasions, like birthdays. In turn, I brought my kids there when I needed a break from kitchen detail, after a long day at work. They have always been such a family friendly place.

Now, Friendly's is working another demographic, perhaps. Teenagers and night owls will love the deals, hours and offerings of the new Friendly's late night menu.

If you grew up in New England then you likely have been to a Friendly's. It's been around for generations. Happily there are still 12 Friendly's Restaurants that are still open within an hour from Boston. Despite the fact that a few recently closed, options remain.

When I was a kid, it was always Friendly's for special occasions, or when Dad was out of town and Mom didn't want to cook. I used to take my kids when they were little. But honestly, I thought most of them had closed. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2011, and did close many locations. But, I had no idea there were quite a few still open and driving distance away.

The Door Just Closed On Boston Friendly's Restaurants

Here, I share with you 12 Friendly's restaurants that are still open, and within an hour from Boston(depending on traffic and your speed of course). The last remaining Friendly's in Boston just recently closed. That one was located at Logan Airport.

When I think Friendly's, I think Fribbles! Fribbles always tasted way better than your average milkshake, for some reason. I think it's thicker and it could be the glass they serve it in. Friendly's brings fond memories for so many of us, and I'm happy it's still open to serve yet another generation of families.

Friendly's Restaurants Fun Facts

Fun facts: Did you know Friendly's is a Massachusetts company? They first opened in 1935. Two brothers, Presley and Curtis Blake (all of 20 and 18 years old) opened an ice cream shoppe in Springfield, MA. They named it Friendly because they wanted people to know it would be a friendly place for families to enjoy a meal together (friendlysrestaurant.com). Also, Friendly's was the first the first restaurant in New England to offer a take home half gallon of ice cream.

So, here are 12 Friendly's restaurants that are still open and within an hour from Boston (roughly speaking). I will include each location's local website page. Happy Fribbling!
