Kane Brown’s Haunting New Collaboration With Jelly Roll
Kane Brown is releasing a lot of new music, and one song is a collaboration with Jelly Roll.
When we spoke to Kane on Tuesday (6/4), he said of the new work, “We actually had my next single before the ‘Mello one came out before we made the transition,” referring to dance music producer Marshmello. “I think it’s gonna speak to a lot of people.”
He continued, “We wrote it out of the country, which is crazy. We wrote it in Europe. It’s called ‘Haunted,’ and it’s just a deep song. You can have all the money in the world, and you can’t escape depression. We actually have Jelly Roll as a feature on it.”
No doubt Jelly loves the song. Brown added, “To tell you how excited Jelly is, he thought we missed out on the song because it was supposed to be my next single. He was like, ‘Hell, give it to me, and I’m gonna release it,’ and I was like, ‘No, I’m not throwing it away.'”

Brown upheld a Nashville tradition dating back to the 1970s earlier this week (6/4) when he held a number-one party at BMI for his latest success, “I Can Feel It.”
The song features a sample of Phill Collins’ classic song “In The Air Tonight” and gives Collins a co-write. Kane has yet to hear a word from the rock star on the song, and he told us he had never met him.
Surrounded by the song’s co-writers, Kane talked about how he feels about his place in country music right now. Brown told us when asked about where he stands in the genre, “I wish you could be inside my head because I felt like the outcast, and then for this album, I feel like we were almost done, and we were writing so many super 1990s, I was like, ‘It’s not 1990s enough.’ And now, the music is out, and I’m like, ‘Oh snap, are we too country now?’ I’m just all over the place.”
He added, “I think it’s a good spot. I think it gives a lot more people a chance to come in, and it’s just fun. Everything that is on top of the charts right now is just fun songs.”
The country star concluded, “All the songs that are being released right now make me super happy.”
This weekend, the singer headlines shows in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Atlanta, Georgia. Throughout his summer tour, he also plays shows in Boston, New Jersey, Hollywood, Florida, Orange Beach, Alabama, and more.
