Attractive couple playing on the beach. The man is chasing the woman.
Abbey and her husband planned a trip to Cape Cod for a little romantic getaway. When her husband told his best friend about it he offered to come down and hang out. Abbey doesn't want him to tag along on what was supposed to be a romantic trip together, but her husband doesn't get why she's so upset about it
Check Out Abbey's Call About Her Cape Cod Romantic Getaway
Jonathan: Danielle for panic button today, we have Abbey. Hey, Abbey. So you have a bit of a problem, I guess with boundaries and your husband's friend. What's going on?
Abbey: My husband and I, we have this trip planned for the weekend to Cape Cod. Friday, Saturday, Sunday. We've been planning this for a while. You know, we don't go away very often. So we've been really looking forward to a romantic getaway. And we were out the other night with his friend and he invited himself to the trip. His friend did. His name is Glenn. And he invited himself on the trip.
Jonathan: OK.
Abbey: Thought I’d just come on down and meet you there and I was totally take aback and very ready to say no when my husband went ahead and said, Oh yeah, come on down. It'll be so much fun.
Jonathan: Ohh well maybe he was just being nice. Like he didn't know how to say no.
Danielle: Well, he didn't know.
Abbey: I thought so too. But then he just kept going and kept saying how excited he was. And I started to be like this is our trip. And he was like, oh, we'll just be a day, it'll just be for one day we'll just go fishing and you can have time to yourself.
Jonathan: Yeah. No. Yeah.
Abbey: And I I was just like this trip is for us. It's not for me you. If it was for me, I would go take a trip by myself.
Danielle: Yeah.
Abbey: So I'm kind of having trouble figuring out how to tell him that I don't want Glenn there at all.
Jonathan: Right. I mean, I guess you could just tell him that. But I think the bigger problem is this is supposed to be like you would plan this. The whole point of it was romantic, right? I would feel like the bigger problem is that why is he OK with Glenn even coming?
Abbey: How do I tell him? But also like, what the hell is wrong with you? That you don't want to just spend time with me? I don't know. I'm not very confrontational. So I’m a little bit worried about how it's going to go down. Because, Glenn is one of his best friends there and friends are important.
Danielle: Absolutely.
Abbey: But yeah, it's it just it really brought me a long way.
Jonathan: Yeah.
Danielle: Sure.
Abbey: He wants Glenn to come on this trip that we planned for ourselves and what do you want me to sleep on the couch?
Jonathan: Yeah. Like, sleep in the bed. Alright. That's Abbey's problem. Her husband and her were planning a vacation to Cape Cod. Or just a weekend getaway. But it was supposed to be romantic and she was looking forward to it for a while.
Abbey: I don't know.
Jonathan: Her husband's friend, Glenn invited himself along and her husband was like, Oh yeah, that'd be great. Yeah. Just for one day. I'll spend the rest of the time with you, honey. But it's also Saturday, too. It's not like, if you're going for a weekend, then it's only half of a day. Friday, half a day Sunday driving there and driving back and then the full day will be with Glenn. That kind of ruins the whole thing. What should she say to her husband? How should she tell him? Should she just be blunt about it or should she? I don't know. Find some passive aggressive way to punish him for allowing Glenn to invite himself along on this vacation. Abby, thank you so much.
Abbey: Thank you.

13 Cape Cod Breweries and Wineries You Have To Try
Whether you're planning a Cape vacation or just going down for a day trip, the Lushy List has put together a number of Cape Cod breweries and wineries that you just have to try.
It was an unknown monk who once said, "He who drinks beer sleeps well. He who sleeps well cannot sin. He who does not sin goes to heaven. Amen."
You can't argue with that logic, so in the interest of public well-being, I'll be continuing the "Lushy List," a new series highlighting breweries and wineries across the Commonwealth!
This week, we are highlighting Cape Cod. If the snow has you dreaming of a cold IPA next to a brewery fire pit, or if you can't wait to go from sand to Sandwich's Tree House Brewing Company, then this is the list for you! And if you are simply looking for your next great beer, than sit back, crack open a cold one, and begin scrolling.

Claiming the title of "Cape Cod's Original Craft Beer," Cape Cod Beer was founded in 2004. This brewery is open year round and features an indoor taproom and a seasonal outdoor beer garden. Live music is provided by local musicians, and there's even a resident food truck to curb your appetite
Devil's Purse Brewing

https://www.devilspurse.com/
Devil's Purse's claim to fame is their Handline Kolsch, which is an American spin on a German ale. In fact, most of their beers are European-inspired in this small brewery that opened in 2015.
Naukabout Brewing
13 Lake Ave, Mashpee, MA
https://www.naukabout.com/brewery
The brewery has local distribution, but they also have a rocking 10,000sqft outdoor patio. They have live music, backyard games, and even movie nights!

Treehouse Brewing Company has multiple locations and they are all incredible. Their beer is rivaled as one of the best in the country. And their patio view of the water is one of the best in the world.

Located in Falmouth, they have brick oven pizza and beer. What more do you need on Cape Cod?
Bad Martha Farmer's Brewery
876 E Falmouth Highway, East Falmouth
https://www.badmarthabeer.com/
"Dance with a stranger. Give out your real number. Convince someone that’s your yacht moored outside the harbor." That's the only quote we need to learn about this brewery.
Provincetown Brewing Co.
141 Bradford St, Provincetown, MA
They have cans, they have drafts, and they have events. It's definitely worth a visit if you love the P-Town area.
Oak Bay Brewery

They don't have a website, but they do have a Facebook page. And they have beer so that's all we really need to know.
Cape Cod Winery

One of the few wineries on Cape Cod, and they do it right! They also have an outdoor area and many events throughout the year.
Truro Vineyard
11 Shore Rd, North Truro, MA
https://trurovineyardsofcapecod.com/
There's food. There's wine. There's cheese! Wait, you said cheese? I'm already on my way there! In all honesty, I love their red blend. It's delicious.
First Crush Winery
527 Main St, Harwich, MA
https://firstcrushwinery.com/
They have a vision. They have a COOP program. And they love their wine. You will too!

Hope You’re Hungry! Here’s 7 Places On Cape Cod With $1 Oysters
Here's where you can find $1 oysters or raw bar happy hours on Cape Cod!
Cape Cod is known for its picturesque landscapes, charming coastal towns, and their fresh seafood. But most importantly, people love a good deal. That's why I have done the research to find all of the places on Cape Cod that have cheap oysters.

A Feast for the Senses
Picture yourself sitting at a waterfront restaurant on Cape Cod with the salty breeze brushing against your face. It's the best feeling in the world. Then you ask the server if they have any oyster specials. You're delighted to know that they have $1.25 oysters tonight!
The moment you take your first bite, your taste buds are treated to a burst of briny ocean flavors. The combination of textures creates a truly unforgettable experience. I can literally taste an oyster as I write this blog. YUM!

$1 Oysters Make You Feel Luxurious On Cape Cod
For those seeking an affordable yet luxurious dining experience, $1 oysters offer the perfect solution. It's an opportunity to enjoy the decadence of seafood without breaking the bank. The accessibility of these reasonably priced oysters means you can savor their taste more frequently, making your culinary adventures on the Cape all the more enjoyable.
Exceptional Oyster Quality and Variety
Cape Cod's pristine waters provide an ideal environment for cultivating exceptional oysters. The region is home to various oyster farms and producers, each offering their own distinct flavors and characteristics. From the brackish Wellfleet oysters, with their full-bodied flavor and crisp finish, to the delicate and mildly sweet Chatham oysters, the Cape offers a diverse range of options to suit every palate. Exploring the different oyster varieties becomes an adventure in itself, with each bite revealing a unique taste profile and sense of place.

Community and Connection
Oyster shucking has become somewhat of a social ritual on Cape Cod. Many restaurants and bars host regular oyster nights or happy hours. The communal aspect of shucking and sharing oysters fosters a sense of camaraderie among diners, creating an atmosphere that embodies the Cape Cod spirit of togetherness and hospitality. We always choose to sit at an oyster bar if we have the opportunity. We love to watch the shucking process!
Sustainable Seafood
Enjoying $1 oysters on Cape Cod also allows you to support sustainable seafood practices. Oysters are filter feeders, meaning they improve water quality by removing excess nutrients from their surroundings. Oyster farming promotes a healthier marine ecosystem and contributes to the conservation of coastal habitats. By indulging in these bivalves, you're not only treating yourself but also contributing to the preservation of Cape Cod's natural environment.
