Jenna ordered a grocery delivery and they were delivered to her neighbor by accident. She tried to retrieve them, but her neighbor informed her that the grocery delivery came to his house, so they are his and took them inside.
Check Out Jenna's Call About Her Grocery Battle With Her Neighbor
Jonathan: Today for panic button. We have Jenna. Hey, Jenna.
Jenna: Hey, Jonathan.
Jonathan: Hey, so, Danielle, Jenna's got a problem. I think we've all experienced this in one way or another, but most of our neighbors are a lot nicer than hers. I've had this happen with my buddy Dave, who's my next door neighbor. It happens all the time. He'll get my stuff. I'll get his.
Danielle: Yeah. Stuff. Yeah. Delivery.
Jonathan: Jenna, this happened with you on a huge scale. What happened?
Jenna: The other day, I ordered just a load of groceries. It was almost $300 worth of groceries.
Jonathan: Alright, so like 5 things.
Jenna: Right. Yeah, exactly. And I'm following along on the app and I see that they're on their way. And then it shows that the guy is at my house and so I look out and he's actually at the next door neighbor's house. And he's taking the grocery delivery into there.
Danielle: Right
Jenna: So, you know, I of course, I didn't have shoes on or anything, so I grab them and I run out. And by that time, he was getting in his car. And I was like, hey, man, those are mine. You delivered them to the wrong house. I want to think he didn't hear me, but truly he just kind of ignored me.
Jonathan: Ohh, was he already in his car? Or was he was getting into his car?
Jenna: He was getting into his car.
Jonathan: Yeah, you know it. It's funny. I've noticed this since I've moved to Boston. Danielle, the lack of eye contact amongst people is something that genuinely I like, but not when I actually need to ask them a question.
Danielle: You don't wanna get into a conversation. Yeah, that's it.
Jonathan: Yeah, that's literally it. But if you're a barista at a Starbucks, and I go, hi, I would like to order. They don't look me in the eyes cause then I have to recognize you’re a human being.
Danielle: Exactly. I'm multitasking. Tell me what you want.
Jonathan: He just ignored you. He got in his car and drove away. But the groceries were just there. So I'm assuming you just went and got the grocery delivery.
Jenna: Right. Well, here's the thing. My neighbor. He's this old guy. He lives alone. He and I, we're not friendly. I mean, I'm nice to him, but he just kind of ignores me, which is fine because we don't have to be friends. But I go up and he's taking the last bag into the house. And I say to him, you know, those are mine. He just delivered in the wrong place. I paid for them. Do you mind? I'll just grab them. And he said I don't know what you're talking about.
Jonathan: And he took the grocery delivery into the house?
Danielle: Sorry, what?
Jenna: Yes, he was like, yeah, I don't know. These were delivered to me.
Jonathan: I mean, you sound like a young lady. He's an older man. I can't imagine you have the same exact taste in food. But free food is free food. I mean it. OK, but possession is 9/10 of the law. What would the cops do? Are you wondering?
Danielle: No. Oh my God. Seriously dude. It's not yours. Oh my God.
Jonathan: Are you wondering like should I call the cops?
Jenna: Well, that was exactly it. I was like, what am I supposed to do? I can't go get them in his house. What am I gonna call the police and be like, hey, this old man took my almond milk and my pee wee snacks? Come on.
Jonathan: Yeah. They're not going to care. OK, so but did you contact the app at least?
Jenna: I did do that. I sent them a message and told them what happened. And, they did reimburse me.
Jonathan: OK.
Jenna: But what if it happens again?
Jonathan: I could see being hesitant to want to order through the app again. Yeah, but the fact that the guy took your food.
Danielle: That's nuts. Whoa. He's like, this is mine now. Too bad. So sad.
Jonathan: You know, part of me is very angry about this, about this person doing this. But part of me kind of admires just the Chutzpah. Because I just can't even imagine what I would do if somebody delivered groceries to my house and I wasn't expecting them.
Danielle: Good spa.
Jonathan: I would actually probably go to my neighbor like, hey, were you expecting groceries? Cause they went to my house. Here they are.
Danielle: Right.
Jonathan: But this guy is like these are mine now, alright?
Danielle : He ‘s like la la la. I can't hear you.
Jonathan: Has this ever happened? God.
Jenna: Yeah, he played dead in the eyes and said, no, these are mine.
Jonathan: And he just took them in.
Danielle: Oh, my God.
Jonathan: Alright. Has anything like this ever happened to you? Did somebody deliver stuff to your neighbor’s house and they just kept it? Or is anybody willing to admit this? Probably through the text line. Has anything ever been delivered to your house and you just kept it because you're like, you know what? Nobody’s going to know. I have an embarrassing story about this coming up. Jenna, thank you so much.
Jenna: Thanks.

I Replaced My Neighbors Flowers With My Own In Their Yard? Am I A Bad Person Because I Just Want The Neighborhood To Look “Tidy”?
I Replaced My Neighbors Flowers With My Own In Their Yard? Am I A Bad Person Because I Just Want The Neighborhood To Look "Tidy"?
Anna complained to her Home Owner's Association because one of her neighbors wasn't following the HOA flower policies and they got fined. She felt bad, so she removed their flowers and replaced them with her own. Now they have ripped out her flowers and replaced them with tacky garden gnomes to spite her. Anna swears she isn't a Karen, but she just wants the neighborhood to look "tidy". Do you think Ana is a "Karen" because she replaced her neighbors flowers with her own?
Here's Her Story About What She Did With The Flowers
Ayla Brown: And good morning. I'm talking to Anna.
Ana: Hi, Anna. Hi. Actually, it's Ana. Hi.
Ayla Brown: I'm so sorry. It says. And Anna. I just thought it was Anna, but hi Ana.
Ana: You know, I used to be the head of the HOA in my neighborhood. I live in a really nice cul de sac. But after my third child, I decided just to step back. I had a lot on my plate. Anyways, I decided to step back and entrust somebody else with the job.
Ayla Brown: Okay. How are they doing with that?
Ana: They're doing good. You know, I think we were of the same mindset how they're running it and everything, so that's really great. And, you know, everything that I had put into place is still there. One of the things that I had brought up before I left was that I thought everyone in the neighborhood should have the same color flowers so that the neighborhood looked, you know, tidy.
Ayla Brown: Rich and fancy.
Ana: Yeah. Absolutely. So I noticed that one family down the street had planted blue flowers. And I was not happy with this because before I stepped down, I made this a whole thing. And the new president was totally down with it. And this new family comes and does something different. So I talked to the president because the family obviously didn't get the memo, the plan. I thought they were just going to talk to the family and see what they could do. But the HOA actually find them $100 per plant.
Ayla Brown: Well, how many plants do they have?
Ana: They had six that they fined for $600 for not following the rule. And I feel really bad because I didn't mean for it to go that far. I just wanted them to take out their plants. And just plant new ones. So I wound up doing it myself.
Ayla Brown: I'm sorry. Doing what?
Ana: I thought it would be really nice of me if I went and took six of my red tulips and take out their plants and plant my own. I did it early in the morning before they had woken up. I just took out their blue plants and I planted my red ones so that, you know, see if they would maybe not get fined so much.
Ayla Brown: Wow. How nice of you.
Ana: Well, I just figured that if I already had the plants, you know, I'd give some to them.
Ayla Brown: It's so giving. You're so giving.
Ana: Right. So I just took out those plans and I replaced them with my own. And then a couple of days later, I passed by when I'm walking my dog in the morning, and they had yanked out the red tulips that I gave them to replace them with all of these gaudy lawn gnomes.
Ayla Brown: No, they didn't.
Ana: Yeah. And snowmen and Christmas lights.
Ayla Brown: So they're making a point, I would say, don't you think? Because you went into their property early in the morning and took out their blue flowers and put your own red tulips in?
Ana: I mean, I was literally just trying to do something nice for them. Every time I pass by them, they just call me a Karen now because they thought I was taking over and trust me, I am 100% not a Karen. I was never.
Ayla Brown: Didn't you just go to the HOA in the first place?
Ana: Yeah, but I thought they would just give them a warning or something. I didn't think that they would fine them.
Ayla Brown: I mean, maybe they should have you back in office.
Ana: Honestly, the way that things are being run, sometimes I think that they're still following my rules. But the way that things are being handled, they should just have been a sit down meeting.
