Elise's son is on a little league team that holds an annual car wash as a fund raiser. But this year, they changed the location. It was being held in the parking lot of a weed dispensary. Elise feels this is unacceptable and doesn't want her child exposed to the types of people that would be attending this business. She refused to let him participate and is considering removing him from the team. Is Elise over reacting? Or is a car wash in a weed dispensary parking lot dangerous for her son?

Here's Elise's Phone Call About Her Weed Dispensary Car Wash Concerns:
Jonathan: Today, Danielle, on panic Button we have Elise. Hi, Elise.
Danielle: Hi.
Jonathan: So Elise you have a bit of a problem with something that I would say a good amount of people in our audience seem to enjoy. What's going on.
Elise: That's putting it lightly. I have a real issue with this. Let me just tell you.
Jonathan: OK. Yeah.
Elise: My son is on the Little League team and they have this annual car wash to raise money for equipment and whatnot. It's really great, especially for adults. They just pay 10 bucks and the kids will wash their cars, everything like that.
Jonathan: OK
Elise: So this year they decided to change locations for it, though. They didn't warn us ahead of time or anything like that. And you want to know where they did it? They held it in a weed dispensary parking lot.
Jonathan: OK, I was thinking strip club or something.
Elise: My son wouldn't even know what that is. We don't touch that with a 10 foot pole.
Jonathan: You don't take your son to the to weed dispensary or the strip club.
Danielle: The Peel palace.
Elise: To the dispensary place.
Jonathan: I mean, they wouldn't let him in. You have to be 21.
Danielle: Yeah, exactly.
Jonathan: OK.
Elise: I wouldn't go. I think it's awful.
Jonathan: Yeah, right.
Elise: But not only my kids, but all kids in general. Why should they have to be exposed to, you know, I'm sorry, but these weed heads, whatever you want to call them, coming in and out high as a kite. I thought it was so inappropriate.
Jonathan: Just going in there and buying their jazz cabbage coming out, getting baked in the parking lot probably.
Danielle: Have you ever actually sat and watched cause that's really generally not what happens at those places. They're just very nondescript. They can't do a lot of display stuff, but people are not rolling in blasted.
Jonathan: What people? She wouldn't know. She's not been to a place like that. They might not be leaving blasted, though. But you can smoke in your car after you get the stuff.
Elise: That's not what I hear.
Danielle: No, you can't smoke in there. You can't consume in there. First of all, it's not legal.
Elise: Hmm.
Jonathan: Well, yeah, that's stopped people before.
Danielle: It's a little less dubious than it seems.
Jonathan: So you don't like your child being exposed to this element. So did you let him participate in this?
Elise: Absolutely not. And I am seriously considering removing him from his team. And he loved it. I hate to do that to him, but again, who does?
Jonathan: Right. Elise’s problem is that her son's Little League team had a car wash in the parking lot for a weed dispensary. And she is not happy about it. I mean, when you think about it, what kind of element is going into those places.
Danielle: Yes.
Jonathan: What kind of element is coming out? What kind of elements are they enjoying in their car on their way out of the parking lot? They could hit any number of children. Elise, thank you so much.
Elise: Thank you.

My Neighbors Are Smoking Pot Constantly In The Yard And I’m Worried About My Husband And Son Wanting To Join Them
Ellie has a problem with her neighbors smoking pot all day in their yard. The smell is constantly in her house and she's worried it will be a bad influence on her ten year old son. She went to confront them about it, and they told her that her husband smokes weed with them. Now she doesn't know what to do about her neighbors or her husband. Are the neighbors smoking pot even her biggest problem anymore?
Ayla Brown: Good morning. We have Ellie calling in today for Ask Ayla Brown. Ellie, what happened with the neighbors and marijuana and your husband and your son? It sounds like just a problem waiting to erupt.
Ellie: I have these neighbors and they are the biggest potheads. I mean, they are smoking weed all day, every day. I mean, the scent of this comes over my fence. I can smell it in my house because they're outside doing it. They're doing it in their house and they're right next door. It just permeates my life, basically. And I have a ten year old son. And this isn't really something I want him exposed to. But being next door to them, he sees it. He smells it. Any time you run into them, them coming in and out of their house, they're not only smoking, they’re eating it.
Ayla Brown: Do they have jobs or do they just stay home and smoke it all day?
Ellie: I mean, I don't know if they work from home or if they just smoke at home all day, but they are just always there.
Ayla Brown: And it sounds like your houses are close to each other if you can smell it.
Ellie: Yeah, they're pretty close. I mean, the yards aren't that big, but it's more of the distance between the houses and the fence. We're really close to each other on the property line where the houses are. I'm concerned about my son gaining an interest in it, seeing it all the time and our neighbors are fairly young, you know, their early twenties. And so I think for my son who's ten, they seem kind of like the cool kids, like just a little bit older than like a babysitter. But I don't want that to be somebody he's looking up to. So I went over to talk to them about it, and they told me that my husband has been going over to smoke with them. I had no idea. As far as I knew, my husband didn't do drugs. This is something that, when we had started dating, it's been years now. We have a ten year old son together. We've been married for like 12 years, dated for we've been together for 15 years. And this whole time, I've been saying that I don't support any sort of drug use. And that was important to me.
Ayla Brown: It's not even drinking. So I'm just wondering, I'm just throwing all the drugs out there to drinking alcohol, yes or no?
Ellie: Occasionally.
Ayla Brown: So your husband goes over and smokes weed with the neighbors. All right. So what now?
Ellie: They're saying they're not going to change their behavior. And I had the point that I was going to try to call the cops and see if there could be some sort of intervention because what they're doing now might be their choice. But the way that they're doing it is affecting me in my home because it is coming through our walls. But now I'm like, my husband's involved with it and I don't know what to do.
