The summer is really heating up, at least on stages around the Boston area. Shows are selling out quickly. But what are the most sought after concert tickets in town?

StubHub revealed it's findings of the season's hottest shows when it released it's 2024 Summer Tour Preview. Last week the ticket agency shared insights on the most sought after concert tickets in Boston this summer, based on ticket sales.

Country's Cool

Clearly, country music is a top draw in our region. In fact, the top 2 tours are country or country leaning. And 4 of the top 5 most sought after concert tickets in Boston are at Gillette Stadium. Which makes sense since it's our largest venue.

Kenny Chesney is New England's adopted country star. He's been filling up Gillette Stadium since 2005. This year will mark his 22nd, 23rd and 24th shows at his home away from home. He even named his fan club, No Shoes Nation, while in Foxboro It's the first time the country superstar has played 3 in a row. Normally it's 2 nights. All that adds up to a hot ticket. And Kenny is a top draw, according to StubHub.

The surprise? Low key Americana/country artist Zach Bryan who has been quietly filling stadiums across the country without getting a lot of radio airplay. He seemed to come out of nowhere and blow up quickly. His folk driven sound and authentic lyrics are connecting with music lovers all over the country.

Both Chesney and Bryan are selling out venues all over the U.S. And these 2 artists are the most sought after concert tickets in Boston right now, as reported in MassLive, and according to StubHub.

StubHub’s Top 5 Most Sought After Concert Tickets in Boston-Summer 2024

  1. Zach Bryan: June 26 & July 17, Gillette Stadium
  2. Kenny Chesney: August 23-25, Gillette Stadium
  3. P!NK: August 21, Gillette Stadium
  4. Metallica: August 2 & 4, Gillette Stadium
  5. Justin Timberlake: June 29-30, TD Garden

The past two years saw the return of touring, and many acts have hit the road with a vengeance.  There have been amazing live performances, with some of the biggest artists returning to the road. Some tours were delayed due to COVID-19, while some musicians happened to take a long hiatus from performing altogether. Whatever the reason, in 2023, musicians across all genres of music announced world tours and stadium tours.

Pop legends like Madonna and Janet Jackson are touring on a global scale, as are younger artists like Harry Styles and Morgan Wallen. Popularity with K-pop and Latin artists has brought musicians from both genres to have successful tours in 2023. Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Pink and the Cure have all been on the road this year as well.

There is, of course, massive hype around Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. Her shows last three-and-a-half hours as she covers all aspects of her career, from country to pop to indie. With her two “surprise songs” each night, fans are always eager to find out what songs she’ll choose for that segment. On top of that, her timing is impeccable for fans “itching for a post-pandemic live music immersive experience.” Another factor is how much Swifties appreciate Taylor’s dedication to her craft: writing all her songs and reclaiming ownership of all of her music by re-recording her discography. Fans have also been buying and streaming the new versions of her old songs and the bonus tracks on her re-recorded versions of her albums.

Secondary ticket market site Gametime released data showcasing the Top 10 Concert Tours of the year based on average ticket prices on their site. Take a look below at which ten music artists have the hottest concert tickets of 2023 so far, based on the prices of their tickets on Gametime.
