I Bought My Wife Some Sexy Lingerie For Her Birthday. Why Is She Angry At Me?

Kendrick's wife has been having some self esteem issues lately around her body. He wanted to show her that he still thinks he is sexy. So for her birthday, he bought her some sexy lingerie. She says that lingerie is a gift for him, not her. Now Kendrick doesn't understand why his wife is angry at him.

Jonathan: Today for the panic button we have Kendrick. And Danielle, Kendrick’s problem is a problem I bet a lot of men out there have run into. Kendrick, what happened, buddy?

Kendrick: I'm just confused. My wife's birthday came up, right? And I wanted to make her feel really special. That was my main thing. I don't want to say a body shaming thing, but she has a thing with her self esteem about her body.

Danielle: OK

Kendrick: So I was like. Hey. What I'm going to do is I'm going to give her a sexy outfit that makes her look unbelievable.

Jonathan: OK.

Danielle: Oh, boy.

Kendrick: And it's just something she’s wearing at home. She's not wearing this out on the street. I gave it to her. She opens it. And I’ve got to tell you she was not happy.

Jonathan: Well. She didn't appreciate it. So this is lingerie. Or what do you say outfit?

Kendrick: OK. It was lingerie. It was a fishnet thing. It's not like she was naked.

Jonathan: OK. Like not like slutty Harry Potter or something?

Kendrick: No, no. Yeah, but understand. We're we're talking about at home.

Jonathan: Yeah, sure, sure.

Kendrick: She's not wearing it in the streets. It's a sexy lingerie thing. And I thought she looked really good in it. And then she opened this thing.

Jonathan: Yeah. So she was mad. Did it cost a lot of money? It was at least like quality stuff.

Kendrick: She lost it. It was quality stuff, dude. I went to the store. I spent more than 50 bucks. Things are expensive.

Jonathan: Ohh man, more than 50. Also you going into the store is fun.

Kendrick: Yeah, you know, so I found I found something. I'm thinking I'm doing the right thing. I'm helping her.

Jonathan: Yeah, yeah, that’s not embarrassing at all.

Kendrick: She did not see it that way. She saw it as me doing something selfish just for me. And I don't even understand that point.

Danielle: Well that's usually how women see lingerie, as a gift for men. It's for you guys. It's not for us.

Jonathan: Yeah. It is good for men. Then why are you the ones buying it? Usually for you. I don't want it.

Kendrick: Really? Is that why you guys dress up that way on Halloween?

Danielle: Yeah, because it's the only day we can look like a slut and get away with it.

Jonathan: I think if it were up to men, you guys could do that every day of the year. Nobody would have a problem with it. Alright. So that's Kendrick's problem. He doesn't understand why his wife was so ungrateful about the lingerie that he bought her for her birthday. Not his birthday, her birthday. Kendrick. Thank you.
