Blake Shelton Would Fill His Whole Day With This
Blake Shelton is a true blue country music lover, and he has been since he was a boy growing up in Oklahoma. You don’t have to spend much time with the country superstar to realize how deep his love of country music goes.
I learned that early on in his career; I’ve interviewed him a number of times over the years. He would often talk about legendary country artists, like Earl Thomas Conley, who he admired.
When Conley died in April of 2019, Blake was a Hollywood star; he was, of course, a judge on NBC’s The Voice. But quickly dropped everything to come to Nashville to pay tribute to his hero and friend who scored so many hits songs in the 1980s.
In one of my interviews with Shelton a few years back, he told me that his day is filled with the music that he loves. “It’s country music. I mean, I wake up in the morning, and the first thing I do…and people that have to live with me and be around me, it drives ’em crazy. First thing in the morning, I’ll wake up, and I’ll be listening to John Conlee or Keith Whitley or the Bellamy Brothers, you know, all those guys from the 1980s that I grew up listening to.”
He added, “It just inspires me all over again, and I’m inspired every single day when I hear those records I’ve fallen in love with.”

Blake’s latest adventure into the genre he loves so dearly is with Post Malone, who recently released the music video for “Pour Me A Drink,” his duet with Shelton, which will appear on Malone’s upcoming country album.
Blake shared the news of the new video on Instagram. Shelton posted a behind-the-scenes clip recently of the new video and wrote, “Tomorrow. “Pour Me A Drink” video. @postmalone.”
The fun music video starts with Malone buying a malt liquor at a convenience store, where Blake is the store clerk. The guys then cut to a party and hug as Post wears a Dallas Cowboys jersey.
As the video continues, Shelton and Malone play guitar and sing the song’s infectious lyrics in the back of a pickup truck. The duo keeps the party going and mingles and dances with the crowd. They toast each other with solo cups, and then the video goes back to the convenience store, where it appears the party was all a dream.
