My Husband Sits In The Driveway For Exactly 10 Minutes Every Day Before Coming Inside
Does He Think I’m Cheating?
Today on Jonathan and Ayla with fill in host Danielle we talked to Zoey who had a very unique problem with her husband. Ever since they got married he will sit in his car for exactly ten minutes before going inside. Why? The reason is kind of sad and disturbing. Heres’ the transciption of our call with Zoey.
Jonathan
Jonathan and Ayla here on Country 125. Today we have Zoey joining us. Hey, Zoey.”
Zoey
“Hey, how are you?”
Jonathan
“Doing great. So, you have a problem with your husband listening to the radio too much. What’s going on?”
Zoey
“Thank you. It’s very frustrating. He’s my second husband, and I’m his second wife, which I always say is the best because we made our mistakes with the first one.”
Jonathan
“Oh sure, yeah. You figured it all out.”
Zoey
“Exactly. I realized what I needed and wanted. He is amazing. But every time he comes back from work, he sits in his car for exactly 10 minutes. I watched him, timed him, and didn’t know what he was doing. I made a whole list of assumptions. Finally, I asked him, ‘Babe, what are you doing? What’s going on?’ He kept saying, ‘Nothing, nothing.’ Then he finally said, ‘When I was married before, I walked in on my wife cheating. I don’t want to do that again. That’s why I sit in the car.'”
Jonathan
“Wait.”
Danielle
“OK, I get it, but…”
Jonathan
“In Nice Eddie, he said she didn’t know he was home because he just parked and walked right inside, not giving them enough time to get their clothes back on.”
Zoey
“Yep, and now he thinks he’s going to walk in on me cheating every time. I would never do that.”
Jonathan
“That’s right. Your first marriage didn’t break up because of cheating, right?”
Zoey
“No, no.”
Jonathan
“So there’s no reason to think you would do this.”
Zoey
“Exactly. He’s holding onto assumptions from his first marriage.”
Jonathan
“Have you been clear with him about it? Has he said, ‘I know you would never cheat, but this is just something I have to do?'”
Zoey
“Yes, he says he needs to do that.”
Jonathan
“OK.”
Danielle
“That must get old. It’s nice that you’ve been understanding, but…”
Jonathan
“It’s also a huge relationship issue. He might say he trusts you, but his actions show otherwise. How selfish is that of him? He’s making you wait while he deals with his own issues.”
Danielle
“Exactly.”
Jonathan
