Massachusetts Named One Of The Rudest States – 3 Reasons I’m Honestly Not Surprised
Massachusetts named one of the rudest states in the country. Let’s face it, in most cases, there really is no reason to be rude to other people. But if I’m going to be honest, I have to say that I’m really not surprised by these results and I’ll give you 3 reasons why. Here’s where on the list we are as Massachusetts named one of the rudest states in the country.
How Massachusetts Named One Of The Rudest States
The rankings of the friendliest states was done by Newsweek, and looked at where United States visitors could expect the friendliest welcome. They took data by the World Population Review, and created a map that shows where tourists and residents can “experience warm interactions within highly hospitable communities. Massachusetts came in 4th, and New Yorkers have claimed the #1 spot. Followed by Arkansas, and Delaware. Rounding out the top 5 after Massachusetts is New Jersey.
Where Are The Friendly People At?
So where can we find the friendly people? Minnesota came out #1 on the list. Why? “The combination of polite residents, a sense of community, and scenic landscapes make it a haven for those seeking a friendly atmosphere.”
3 Reasons I’m Not Surprised Massachusetts Named One Of The Rudest States
I will stay up front, that I don’t think we should be proud of being rude. In 96.9% of cases (an unofficial study by me Lol) there really is no reason to be rude to other people, including servers, drivers, really anyone. That said, I can understand why people seem to be more rude than usual, and here are a few reasons why.
#1 – It’s expensive AF here. Everything is just too much money in Massachusetts. We’re all angry and frustrated about how much it costs to eat, go out, and basically just live. I can see why people leaving the house and going out into the world would be a little on edge, causing them to take it out on other people.
#2 – Road Rage is a sport here. Seriously, road rage here is BAD. People get inside their cars and I swear they turn into another person. It may not be the worst in the country, coming it at #11 in a study last year. But I can totally see how awful it would be for a visitor to the state to try to drive here. We are not nice on the roads.
#3 – Speaking of sports, fans here aren’t the friendliest. Well, at least that’s what outsiders think. That’s why, based on the fact that this study was from tourists, I can see why we wouldn’t get high marks.
So all in all, I get why Massachusetts named one of the rudest states.
