Lainey Wilson And Miranda Lambert Release ‘Good Horses’
Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert have released their new duet, their first, a song they wrote together called “Good Horses.”
Both country queens grew up with horses and have ridden at competitions. To give a taste of their new song, Lainey and Miranda joined each other in a fancy horse barn with their guitars to sing some of it.
Wilson and Lambert double-posted the clip to their combined seven million followers on their respective Instagram accounts. They captioned the post, “Good horses come home.”
The song’s first verse and chorus includes the lyrics: “If there’s a green pasture, I wanna be in it / I’m a wild, wildflower just a-ready for the picking / Ooh Thirty-one years is a long time coming /Feet off the ground, but I’m a-still running.”
“I don’t need a map / I don’t need a road / I don’t need a fence / I just need to roam / If you wanna love me, you don’t need a rope / You just need to know / Good horses come home.”
Lainey played in Las Vegas in December at The Theater at the Virgin Hotel. During the performance, Lainey surprised the crowd by bringing out what she called her “Ride or Die”: Miranda Lambert. The two sang Lambert’s big smash, “Kerosene.”
The superstars sang the new, never-before-heard-of duet that they wrote together. Lainey told the crowd, introducing it, “This song is so, so special, and you can hear her all over it. She helped me write the song, and I’m so proud of the song; we hope you love it.”

Wilson was a highlight of the Monday night (7/29) tribute to Toby Keith at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. On her way to the stage to sing Toby’s “Beer For My Horses,” Lainey rode an actual horse through the crowd at Bridgestone on her way to the stage where Jamey Johnson joined her on guitar.
Toby’s “Beer For My Horses” was released in 2002. It was a duet with Willie Nelson and it also served as the premise for a movie starring Keith and Nelson. The song was nominated in 2003 for a Best Country Song Grammy.
Other highlight of Toby’s Nashville tribute concert included:
Carrie Underwood kicked it off and turned it up with “A Little Less Talk And A Lot More Action.” Eric Church kept the crowd on its feet with “As Good As I Once Was.” Luke Bryan playfully donned a black cowboy hat for “Should’ve Been A Cowboy.” Tyler Hubbard played “Red Solo Cup” with friends Jelly Roll, HARDY, and Jordan Davis.
