Fun Things to Do in Boston When It’s Nice Outside
With such great weather on the horizon, Boston has a ton of outdoor activities, so most of the sunshine! Here are some of my recommendations:
- Explore the Boston Common and Public Garden: Take a leisurely stroll through Boston’s oldest park, which offers beautifully landscaped gardens, the iconic Swan Boats, and space for picnicking. You can also go shopping on Newbury Street while you’re there (or my favorite, window shopping).
- Walk the Freedom Trail: This 2.5-mile route takes you through 16 historically significant sites. The clear, sunny weather will make this educational and scenic walk even more enjoyable. I have never actually walked the full freedom trail, but would love to someday. This would be the perfect week to do it.
- Visit the Charles River Esplanade: Ideal for jogging, biking, or just relaxing by the water. The Esplanade offers picturesque views of the Charles River and the Boston skyline.
- Head to the Boston Harbor: Take a harbor cruise or simply enjoy the waterfront. The area around the New England Aquarium is particularly vibrant, with restaurants and outdoor seating that make for a lovely day out. There’s even a boat that goes from Hingham to Boston.
- Go for a Beach Day: Head down to the Cape for a beach day, or up North to NH! There’s plenty of beaches to choose from. Our favorite is Hampton Beach.
- Take a Day Trip to Salem or Concord: If you’re looking to venture out of Boston, consider a day trip to nearby Salem or Concord. Both towns offer rich history and charming outdoor spaces.
No matter what you do, enjoy the beautiful weather and make the most of your time in this vibrant state!
