Jelly Roll’s “Liar” Climbs to Top 10 on Country Airplay, Continuing No. 1 Streak
‘Liar’ jumped to No. 8 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart this week, adding another success to Jelly Roll’s record. The song continues his impressive streak of hits.
Released from his successful album ‘Beautifully Broken,’ the track launched in October 2024. The song came together through collaboration – Ben Johnson, Ashley Gorley, and Taylor Phillips wrote the lyrics while Zach Crowell handled production.
His momentum keeps building. Before ‘Liar,’ he landed six straight singles at the top of Country Airplay. His latest number one, ‘I Am Not Okay,’ dominated for three weeks last November.
“Being recognized by the [Recording] Academy and being here to represent Nashville and being able to represent country music and my slice of America that’s often not spoken for — it’s a lot of people that have never been represented that are represented here tonight,” the singer told Entertainment Tonight.
Following his prison stint, he moved from rap to country music. He found success with ‘Ballads of the Broken’ in 2021, which produced hits like ‘Dead Man Walking’ and ‘Son of a Sinner.’
‘Whitsitt Chapel’ reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The highlight? A moving duet of ‘Save Me’ with Lainey Wilson.
His success in country music earned him three CMT Music Awards in spring 2023. The standout prize? Breakthrough Male Video of the Year. He grabbed New Artist of the Year at the CMA Awards among his five nominations.
Currently, Koe Wetzel and Jessie Murph’s song “High Road” holds the No. 1 position on the Country Airplay chart for the fifth consecutive week.
