Boston Pops Celebrates Keith Lockhart’s 30th Season With Big Stars, Dynamic Performances
In celebration of Boston Pops’ conductor Keith Lockhart’s 30th anniversary, the Boston Pops’ 2025 season, May 8-June 7, will feature some of the most popular musical programs of Lockhart’s work with the Boston Pops.
Lockhart has conducted more than 2,250 concerts and collaborated with more than 300 guest artists representing diverse music genres. As the Pops open its 139th season, Lockhart will conduct 10 dynamic programs that will feature everything from Broadway music to rock, country, film, and more.
Highlights of Lockhart’s 30th Anniversary
The May 8 Opening Night concert will feature special guest artist Cynthia Erivo of “Wicked” fame. Film nights with the Pops will continue on May 9 and 10 with “JAWS In Concert,” a live orchestral accompaniment of the Oscar-winning score of the original 1975 Steven Spielberg film.
On May 15, Lockhart delivers a one-night-only program of “Star Wars: The Story in Music,” featuring composer John Williams’ music from all nine “Star Wars” films and narration from Boston actor Jeremiah Kissel. Lockhart will lead concerts on May 24 and 31 featuring music from Disney’s “Frozen In Concert.”
On May 29 and 31, Lockhart will delight audiences with the playlist from John Williams, delivering the celebrated music from Williams’ favorite film scores and music of Hollywood’s legendary composers.
Singer-songwriter, producer, and arranger Cody Fry delivers his orchestrations and storytelling to the Symphony Hall stage on May 28.
The Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration makes a return to the Symphony Hall on June 3 and 4, then it’s Pride Night on June 5 with Orville Peck delivering an introduction to Boston Pride month.
Finally, on June 7, Gospel Night at the Pops unites Grammy-winner Tamela Mann and award-winning singer David Mann for their Pops debut with the Boston Pops Gospel Choir.
