Chris Janson Chats About His Upcoming Show In Boston
We are so excited for Chris Janson to come back to Boston! On March 14, he’ll be taking over the House of Blues for a long-awaited Boston return! He took a few minutes out of his tour preparations to chat with me about the show, what he’s going to be playing, and a pretty famous best friend of his!
“I’m looking forward to coming up to Boston and having a great show,” Janson said. “It’s going to be a fun one” Although he doesn’t have a specific tradition or must-do activity when he visits Boston, Chris has a deep appreciation for the city. “I just like the people,” he said. “I’m a man of the people, and I enjoy the people. There’s a vibe up there that you don’t really get anywhere else.”
I brought up how Boston has not always been considered a major country music hub in the past, but Chris Janson never doubted the passion of the fans. “They’ve always been kind to me,” he said. “I like the accent. I think there’s something country, and quite frankly, kind of fistfight and redneck about it.”
Fans can expect a packed setlist full of his hits, including Buy Me a Boat, Fix a Drink, Good Vibes, and a recent number one of his’: All I Need Is You. “That’s one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written,” Chris said when I told him that was probably my favorite of his. “It’s a true story about my wife, and it became my fifth number one which is just awesome.”
He also teased a few surprises, including songs that he’s written for other artists that he sometimes works into his sets. “As long as people bring a great attitude, which I know they will, we’re going to have a great time,” he promised.
And of course, his latest single Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get comes with some star power. The music video for the song features a cameo from none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, a close friend of Chris. “We had been looking for a reason to do something musically together,” he said. “I invited him and he said ‘yeah, I’d love to.’ So we made it happen.”
Chris Janson’s shows are known for their high energy and feel-good vibes, and I’m sure this one will be no exception. “We’re going to have us a fantastic show,” he said. “Everybody get your tickets, and we’ll look forward to seeing you.”
