Free Lobster Days Programs Offered for Families in New Bedford, Feb. 20-21
The New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center (NBFHC) will host its popular Lobster Days programs on Thursday, Feb. 20, and Friday, Feb. 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free, family-friendly event during the state’s mini February school vacation period will educate participants about Massachusetts’ commercial lobster industry.
Associated Lobster Days activities include demonstrations and presentations by working lobstermen, lobster-themed stories, face painting, and lobster-inspired arts and crafts projects such as making a lobster hand puppet. Adult attendees will receive an exclusive Lobster Days coupon redeemable at Fisherman’s Market Seafood Outlet on Pope’s Island.
Special guests for Lobster Days include lobstermen Dave Casoni and Steve Holler of the Massachusetts Lobstermen’s Association. Casoni and Holler will explain the work of commercial lobstering and lead demonstrations on lobster anatomy and biology.
Lobster Days 2025 is supported by the Massachusetts Lobstermen’s Association and the Massachusetts Cultural Council. The NBFHC is at 38 Bethel St. in New Bedford. For questions or more information, call 508-993-8894.
