The Newburyport Charitable Foundation announced on Thursday, Feb. 27, that it has donated $20,000 to Our Neighbors' Table, a nonprofit based in Amesbury, Massachusetts. This donation supports fundraising efforts for the Seacoast Regional Food Hub. Our Neighbors' Table is leading this initiative to improve regional food security for the Lower Merrimack Valley's residents in Massachusetts.

The Seacoast Regional Food Hub, located at 114 Bridge Road in Salisbury, aims to promote community collaboration while expanding the organization's infrastructure. The goal of the food hub is to provide equitable access to adequate, nutritious food across the region.

According to Our Neighbors' Table, more than 25 food access organizations are working together through the Lower Merrimack Valley Food Coalition to serve more than 32,000 individuals living in food-insecure households.

“For over 30 years, Our Neighbors' Table has been an invaluable resource in our community,” said John Burcke, Newburyport Bank President, in a community news release. “They focus on creating a welcoming and dignified environment for people to access the resources they need. The Seacoast Regional Food Hub is yet another important initiative they have undertaken, and we are proud to support their efforts.”

Over the last several decades, Newburyport Bank has maintained a long partnership with Our Neighbors' Table. The bank has offered the organization financial support to expand its facilities, and bank employees frequently volunteer with the organization.
