‘Jaws’ Returns to Theaters for 50th Anniversary with Unique Ocean Screening at Martha’s Vineyard
The movie classic “Jaws” debuted in 1975, and 50 years later, the epic shark thriller is still frightening audiences.
This summer, people will have the opportunity, including seeing the production on Martha’s Vineyard, where the movie classic was filmed.
Universal Pictures is releasing the film in theaters around Massachusetts and the rest of the country from Aug. 29 to Sept. 4. According to the Cape Cod Times, special screenings of the film will be held during TCM (Turner Classic Movies) Fest in April and Alamo Drafthouse events during the summer.
The Alamo Drafthouse is at 60 Seaport Blvd. in Boston, and the TCM Fest is taking place in Los Angeles.
A special screening will happen this summer that will enable movie audiences to sit in the water on Martha’s Vineyard and watch “Jaws.”
The Collider website noted that the Alamo Drafthouse Rolling Roadshow will screen “Jaws on the Water” on June 21 in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.
Fans of the film will also be able to watch “Jaws” accompanied by a live orchestral performance by the Boston Pops on Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10. Both shows will take place at 7:30 p.m. at Symphony Hall in Boston, at 301 Massachusetts Ave.
Ticket prices for the performances range from $50 to $122, and plenty of tickets are available for both shows available on the Boston Pops website.
“Jaws” is available for streaming on Peacock. It is also available for rent or purchase on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango At Home. All four “Jaws” films are also available for streaming on Peacock.
