On Tuesday, April 1, the MBTA announced that the Fitchburg commuter rail and MBTA bus routes 77 and 62/76 will provide additional service over Patriots Day weekend for Massachusetts 250 events in Arlington, Concord, Lexington, and Lincoln. Multiple events commemorating the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, including parades and reenactments, will take place across the state during the weekend of April 19-20.

The MBTA is encouraging members of the public to take public transportation due to limited parking, multiple road closures, and anticipated heavy traffic.

Commuter Rail

Additional trains will run on the Fitchburg Line on Saturday, April 19, offering increased service to Concord and Lincoln. Due to anticipated high ridership, bicycles are not permitted on board trains.

Buses

Arlington: Route 77 will run every 15 minutes on weekends starting Sunday, April 6. On Wednesday, April 30, closures will cause a detour around Arlington Center.

Lexington: Route 62/76 will offer extra service between Lexington Center and Alewife on Saturday, April 19. Buses will run every 20 to 22 minutes from 5:10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Lincoln: Route 62/76 will add a temporary stop at the Minute Man National Historical Park Visitor Center on Saturday, April 19.

The MBTA will also adjust bus schedules for Patriots Day weekend. More details will be announced soon, but the public can also view information on the MBTA's website.
