Sing Choi Kee, a New York–based Hong Kong–style street food eatery, is expanding to Malden, Massachusetts. Malden will mark the establishment's first location in the state at 7 Pleasant St. in the former More Than Coffee site. The chain currently operates a restaurant in Flushing, New York, with another location planned for West Nyack, New York.

Menu highlights blend traditional Hong Kong café staples — such as dim sum, char siu, and omurice — with comfort dishes like slippery egg over rice, beef pasta, Hong Kong–style French toast, and a notable bubble tea selection. In fact, the restaurant is known for its "Little Bear" teas and bear-shaped ice cubes, which have drawn social media attention.

“Following the influences of post-World War II British culture on Hong Kong, locals adopted the delightful combination of tea with milk and the enjoyment of delectable cakes,” notes the restaurant's Google Business page. “This cultural shift gave birth to the Cha Chaan Tengs, offering quick and affordable dishes catering to the community's new tastes. At Sing Choi Kee, we take pride in advancing this rich legacy.”

Franchisee Alvin Qu told What Now Boston that Sing Choi Kee is tentatively slated to open in about one month, pending final inspections.
