A new casual seafood spot is coming soon to Boston, and the culinary team behind the restaurant consists of fine-dining chefs.

According to a post within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, Holdfast Specialty Seafood Co. is preparing to open in Allston, operating in a space at 164 Brighton Ave.

A Boston Magazine article notes that Nathan Gould, Tyler Paolini, and business partner Jesse Kim are the chefs behind the dining spot. A Boston Globe article noted that Gould comes from O Ya in the Leather District, while Paolini comes from both O Ya and Sarma in Somerville.

Both media sources report that Holdfast plans to offer hot and cold lobster rolls, clam rolls, oyster rolls, crudo, oysters, caviar, and seasonal dishes, plus beer and wine. In the future, the team plans to add “creative fin fish” to their crudo selection and seasonal dishes, such as Hokkaido uni in winter and bay scallop rolls in fall.

The Boston Restaurant Talk blog notes that Holdfast Specialty Seafood Co. will be a counter-service spot with limited seating at a communal table and a bar.

Boston Magazine stated that Holdfast could open sometime around Thursday, Nov. 6.
