Framingham Logan Express Opens Expanded Garage With Double Parking Capacity

The renovated Framingham Logan Express garage has opened, just in time to accommodate Thanksgiving travelers.

The expanded garage has three new parking levels, doubling the garage's capacity to accommodate more riders. New amenities at the garage include electric vehicle charging stations and approximately 2,600 solar panels that will cover nearly half of the building's energy needs.

To improve service for suburban travelers, Massport plans to increase shuttle frequency from every 30 minutes to once every 20 minutes. Ticket and parking fees will remain at current prices.

“We are ready to ... make sure that our customers over the coming holiday season will have as a quick, seamless, and hopefully enjoyable travel experience as possible,” Massport CEO Rich Davey said in a statement to GBH News.

According to Massport, Framingham is one of the busiest Logan Express shuttle locations. It served more than half a million riders in 2024 alone.

A renovation is being planned for the Braintree Logan Express hub, with Massport considering proposals to convert the surface lot there into a garage facility.

“We're certainly learning as Logan Airport had the highest number of passengers last year — 44 million people — is that we need to manage our growth,” Davey said in a statement to GBH News. “And that includes adding more opportunities for our suburban customers to get to the airport with our bus service.”
